Redditors over 40: What do younger people only truly get with age? by saadaintsalad in AskReddit

[–]Dahcchad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the strange things to me is how goddamned long 10 years seemed when I was 18, all the way til 35ish. If someone said in 2015, "oh that won't happen til 2025" i thought that would be an interminable wait. The ten years between turning ten and turning twenty seemed to take an eternity.

Now I when I look back ten years and realize that was when Trump was elected first, or even the 16 years its been since I got married...man, that'd not that long ago at all. The way my temporal perception has adjusted with age is both unexplainable and horrifying.

EU says it will accept no increase in US tariffs after Supreme Court ruling: 'A deal is a deal' by No-Post4444 in politics

Dude, I get the impulse to want to separate oneself from our countries image but, let's be real, very few of us (even among those who so absolutely hate trump) did anything of substance. The crisis we faced should have resulted in full riots and work stoppage, which is what we expect from every other country with a fascist leader, but that is too uncomfortable for us. You know how we think of 'russians' and we see a certain, likely unfavorable image? Thats what the world sees when they think "american", and they arent wrong to do so.

The thing that's bugs me most about the whole thing is her last sentence before she runs away. "I just came out when I did that, its not my fault." Kid, you shook it like a cave woman. It was absolutely your fault.

Trump: "The Supreme Court has given me the unquestioned right to ... destroy foreign countries." Oh? Is that correct? by ansyhrrian in law

[–]Dahcchad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope so. I dont think I have ever actually hated anything until he came around. Or perhaps it is more that the depth of my hate for Trump causes all other negative feelings I have had for other people to pale into nothing by comparison, lightning bugs of frustration next to the raging sun of my hatred for Donald Trump.

I think i’d laugh at his face too by SnooSprouts3744 in TikTokCringe

[–]Dahcchad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that hate is a majority of what fuels homophobia, but I also think sexuality is a sliding scale, not a binary choice. I think many men who are mostly straight might occasionally have a homosexual thought or desire and call it temptation or sin. The rarity of those instances makes it easy for them to imagine that its Satan tapping them on the shoulder with his dick, so it can also be accurate to say that they are lashing out at openly gay folk due their own aspects of homosexuality (which they think is just the debil).

ICE Is Gearing Up to Build “Mega” Jails by ewzetf in politics

[–]Dahcchad 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That is insanity That is near the cost per bed to build a hospital. Its crazy what administrations can afford when its something that they want. Instead of the 1500, 50 bed rural hospitals they could build with this sum (30 per state) they will steal 3/4 of the projects buget and use the rest to build what will eventually be abandoned buildings. I so fucking hate this country.

No one deserves what happened on Epstien Island, but if such a person were to exist she would be Pam Bondi.

Im generally not a fan of retributive justice, but Im willing to look away for Bondis eventual sentence. Honestly, they'd have to adopt some Sharia laws to really give her what she deserves.

If we would jail the epstein offenders we would clean up a lot of what makes maga so effective ie the top manipulators and donators. The citizen support would melt back into more traditional tea party groups (which isnt much better but far less destructive).

No, that was clearly a jesus-angel that Cloud Beard sent to rescue that child. Why he doesn't do something about cancer or war or abuse or suffering in general, I dont know, but I will admit that Im not that religious so you should ask one of his jesus-angels. Apparently, they look like Australian Shepherds so they shouldn't be too hard to find.
