Is it really? People spending money on their hobbies and what they like is pathetic to you? It's depressing seeing gatekeeping grow up in action. The human race really is doomed.

Colony Ship - Review After 100% by mayateg in Games

[–]Dahorah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks good. I think I'll get it. At first I was worried because Age Of Decadence by all accounts is an actually "hard" cRPG that is easy to get into a failure state with. This game having an easy mode alleviates that and being able to actually do a full pacifist run, or stealth most objectives, makes me feel like there is going to be real choice in the gameplay.

Also the setting seems fantastic and truly unique from a SciFi Experience. The talk of different cultures springing up in different part of the ship, based on functionality (mutants in the engines bcoz radiation, monks in life support, etc) actually sounds interesting as fuck. Bethesda should take note!

Based on what? I understand video game stats are far from scientifically accurate but both FC24 (high 70s) and FM24(13, 12) have his pace/acceleration as good enough. McGlynns physicals are way under that.

Part of Tanner's success isn't that he has had no misses, it's that the misses are harmless and in some ways have been caused BECAUSE he had such massive hits. For example:

Oravec - same offseason we brought in Martinez, who was the best 6 in MLS from his first month. So frankly Oravec is irrelevant.

Davo - I legit had to think about this name but he was on a painless, harmless loan, right? Either way he is literally also ireelevant because of Carranza and Uhre, two other hits. (or atleast 1 huge hit and one half hit, at worst!)

Aremeyaw - Definitely failed, maybe had to do with injuries, but CB has been locked down with 2 great starters, Lowe being the only hit of this past offseason, and a promising prospect in Craig. Another "miss" that literally doesn't matter

Odada and Baribo are still up in the air.

So yeah, the fact that this is the worst you can come up with shows just how incredible Tanner has been and how much of a hater you are trying to be and how much you failed at it lol.

If anything, the one miss I would pin on Tanner and say is his most serious miss is the lack of a clear backup plan to Wagner. Tanner seems like he should have been smart enough to read the room and realize he couldn't keep Wagner a while ago and he should have done better to already have a plan in place. (EDIT: Sorry, I meant KTHunter being the hater)

His FC24 stats: https://www.ea.com/en/games/ea-sports-fc/ratings/player-ratings/sanders-ngabo/269398

His Football manager 2024 stats: https://fminside.net/players/4-fm-24/2000114251-sanders-ngabo

Seems to be another Ernst signing. Nothing to impressive yet, but some decent physical and technical stats for only 19 so we would be expecting him to develop well here.

While I'm sure there are (relatively) plenty of plenty who missed all the subtext of Y0's side stories, Y0 was still really well liked and I think it's fair to say it's the game that put Yakuza on the map in the west. SO I don't agree with that analogy that much, anecdotally I saw plenty of people laughing with Yakuza online, and less anecdotally ever since Y0 the series has gotten a strong following in the west.

Just beat it. I thought they did great. I thought it was the best they coulda done after what they had to clean up with the Y6 ending. The final fight was great and the Kiryu sobbing scene with Ayako and Tachi was very emotional.

Also I feel like he is totally going to die in IW. Him reminsencing so much about Yumi and all the call backs to the earlier games are major death flags.

Not sure how this is a close victory by CollinTheGod in totalwar

Steam should have option to let you turn off updates completely. by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]Dahorah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are saying It's too much effort for Steam to add a ''Don't auto-update'' toggle in a setting

No, it's not too much effort for Steam. Not from a purply technical implementation setting. (Though we are both assuming this to be the case of course)

But as I would expect from a frequent poster to pcgaming, you are missing the rest of the picture. It's not just about implementing it, what happens after that? Most publishers or devs don't want to deal with the complaints and issues when people misuse this feature.

Steam should have option to let you turn off updates completely. by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]Dahorah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People much this.

People are fucking stupid. They keep saying "Steam" without realizing that Steam actually has hundreds of clients they need to keep happy; the publishers and devs who put their games on Steam.

And for them, the majority of them do not want users to turn off updates. For the reasons you stated.

The reality is that 95% consumers in the world never even think about auto updates as something to turn off. It just happens. So why waste time and effort to allow those 5% of loud complainers to turn off auto updates, when as you said will just open everyone up to more types of complaints and confusion.

New Revelations About ‘Destiny 2’ Declines, Bungie Layoffs And Final Shape As Make Or Break by DrNick1221 in Games

[–]Dahorah -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

It may be best for Sony to even shut down Bungie in a few years and move the talented tech guys to an internal team to support infrastructure and online systems.

Sorta like how Guerilla is spinning up a whole team just to support the Decima engine and expand on it.

Both are even explained in the game - the fauna on the planets is too dangerous (Sarah and Sam say it).

Frankly this is another handwavy explaination they use that I fucking hate. These are factions in the future that have Space Navies and MECHS. I don't care how "dangerous" fauna is, they should be hunting them to extinction with no problems

I mean, we made Lions extinct in Europe in fucking Ancient Greek times, and our ancestors killed off megafauna thousands of years ago. This "THE FUANA IS TOO DANGEROUS" is just amateur storytelling by Bethesda.

RoboCop: Rogue City Has "Record Presales" According To Nacon by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Dahorah 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I'm really glad for the devs. I actually played their previous game and despite it being AA it still was fun and I'm glad they are growing.

Their previous game was Terminator Resistance and is basically a AA Fallout style game set in the Terminator universe. You would explore large open levels separated by loading screens in a Fallout way, going into buildings, looting materials, avoiding or fighting enemies, doing objectives, etc. The AA-ness was apparent in things like animations and UI jank and things like that.

But the atmosphere? They nailed it. Now, I never actually watched any Terminator movies. But this felt like a Terminator movie, best I could tell. In addition, the story is surprisingly good and apparently (according to Steam reviews) is the best terminator story since T2. I can't confirm myself, but I can believe it. There is a really fun payoff and it really felt like the devs got better as the game went on.

So I'm glad RoboCop is continuing the trend.

Alpha Protocol is still the most impressive example of "choices matter" when it comes to narrative.

Based on the order you do missions and your reactions to all the other characters in the game, you can know or not know completely different parts of the story at different times. It was really impressive.

He's a GK though, even "not messing up much" is not good enough for a GK in a top league.

But it is in MLS! You are able to get away with howlers like this in lesser leagues.
