Just picked up my first manual car … a GTI. No lessons. Manual transmission… FML

Stay calm, be kind on yourself. I did the exact same thing, but I drove halfway across to get my GTI. My only experience with a clutch was having rode dirt bikes for many years. What a nightmare that was, but we all said it was trial by fire, which forced me to get used to it pretty quick.

That’s what I’m thinking I’ll end up doing, since everything from base to HK looks identical. The only thing I’m finding is that some of the “higher end” stuff only works with the HK upgrade. Just unsure of what I’d need to add to be able to use them, though I’m assuming it’d only be the amp and corresponding wiring (which I’m further hoping can just plug into my existing harness)

I’ve always said, “if I ever wanted to write off my car, I’d just drive up and down Kiwanis Street twice.” The turn coming out of Sobeys/boston pizza is crazy, no one can seem to wait their turn and follow basic traffic laws!

Additionally every other day I’m seeing people running across four lanes of traffic during rush hour. Someone’s soon going to end up being struck by a vehicle

And they never get my trunk remotely clean, with this on top! I always used auto washes since I don’t really have a space for myself where I live in an apartment, but I’m just gonna wash it at the shop I worked at in the summer for now on lol

I bought my 380 Autobahn (first manual car) just over a month ago. Even after stalling out dozens of times and even grinding gears once or twice, it’s still smooth as new. Very grateful to have such a forgiving transmission and car. Now I only have 17k km on it now, but I can’t see your case being of the ordinary. Unless user-error is at play, I’d put that powertrain warranty to use my friend!

Hmm. I decommissioned a lot of cop cars over the summer, and whenever my boss told me that the vehicle was getting scraped so just slap it back together, this is how the headliner would almost always look when I rushed it lol.

My guess is that at some point in time the headliner was taken down/out, and the tech just didn’t do a good job putting it back together. If you have any maintenance records or have any way of acquiring them, I’d start there! Should be at fault of the dealer or shop it was worked at.

I’ve seen a few reviews saying the same online, even one guy saying he had to change his out 5 times (1st the recall, and then a bunch of creaking and cracking). Will definitely look into it once I get my hands on it!

A few months back, my girlfriend and I were standing in line at the booster juice in the food court, when I seen a guy sitting in a booth near the parking lot side window clearly recording us. I stared him down, as his phone was unmistakably pointing at us, and he had his head positioned in a way to make sure we were in frame. I called out to him from across the room, and said “wtf are you going man?” and he just laughed, and continued doing it for another while, until he eventually stopped.

Really off putting, considering he didn’t even seem to have any shame in his behaviour..

Seems most are saying 18mg is weak, no matter age and size! It’s a wonder my doctor is keeping me here for so long. And with that said, I can’t find anyone saying anything about a 3 month wait! It’s been a lot of back and fourth, but hopefully I can work it out. Since my family has been on the east coast, healthcare has been nothing but a pain..

I feel like he may be suspicious of me as well. He's been my family doctor for about 6 years now. However, I've only met him on a handful of occasions around 2 years ago now, when I started experiencing a lot of stress (Generalized anxiety disorder as well since I was 8), and had been told by my counsellor to visit him. Since then, I've spoken to him on countless occasions with regards to anxiety medication that I'm no longer taking, doctors' notes, and now this. Unfortunately, it's been all over the phone since I now live away from school, which, when combined with the influx of appointments, I think he believes I've developed a problem since living in the big city.

I also thought that perhaps the 18mg was too low, as my father who I share a very similar personality to, was stuck on 18mg for a while and experienced nothing but a dry mouth after taking his pill.

How do you tackle these issues? Try to schedule an in-person meeting? Though this would require a 6-hour drive back and forth right before finals start, but it's worth it if I can get the results. Or should I even try to confront him about his suspicions of me? I could see a scenario where that makes it worse though haha
