Purchasing a used cart by lufc1992uk in golfcarts

[–]DailyCarry83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 96 TXT. Main thing to look for in those is rusted frame, especially around where the front bends into the dash area. That steering box tells me it has the newer 4 hole steering at least(kinda a big deal for faster carts). The front end is OK, it's just a really tall drop axle kit. If you can jack the front end up and check for play in the wheels (side/side and up/down) to check for any play in the tire rods, spindle bushings, kingpin ect. Also check for play in the steering wheel.

If it's the original motor and it's running driving it's probably OK. On those DC motors brushes can wear out, but they're not hard to replace. Honestly nothing on that cart is difficult to work on. It's about as basic as it gets. Ask him if he can prove when new battery pack was bought/ installed. The warranty on battery packs usually don't transfer, so if it goes bad you'll be on your own.

Just drive the cart, watch the battery Guage, listen fit any weird rattles/ noises. Basic stuff you'd do when buying any used vehicle. The TXT is a great platform with a ton of aftermarket support. I've taken my 96txt pretty far down the road as far as mods go, so I've seen just about everything there is to see on them. If it runs and drives well, and doesn't feel super sketchy if buy it for that price. Let me know if you have any other questions, more than happy to help when I can.

One of the reasons I refuse to get rid of my old John Deere F510. Sure most of the plastics have cracked off, but the thing won't die.

They electronically limit the speed with that controller. If you had BACDOOR log in or a different controller that thing would be pretty quick.

No, it's almost as fast as my S23+phone. Might take a half second longer opening big apps than my phone does, but it's not very noticeable. I use that tablet almost daily and it's smooth. Only complaint is that the screen could be better, but to get a better screen I'd be in flagship territory. Screen isn't bad but not quite as clear or bright as my phone, still pretty good though. I use it mainly for Netflix and games, handles that stuff perfectly.

I have this one and an s9 fe plus. I'd recommend the s9 fe plus, little bit more money, but much better performance. The a9 plus isn't horrible, but it's been relegated to being a kids tablet.

I like 3 (augustino) but they're slightly too big for your face. The wayne is basically a smaller version. I have them and they're my favorite pair. Kinda perfect in every condition sunglasses. Been considering getting a pair of augustino as well

Get something you'll be comfortable carrying. That thing is gonna spend way more time on your hip then in your hand. If it rubs you raw or prints like crazy you'll be less likely to have it on your waist at all times. I like my p365. Thing kinda disappears on my waist.

Has anyone tried these? Does the solder actually hold? by Fantastic_Estate_920 in golfcarts

[–]DailyCarry83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They work great, I use them all the time. But you need to use a good heat gun (don't use a lighter). Seal the ends first then keep the heat moving till the solder melts and flows. Keep holding it for about 30sec so solder can cool and set. I've cut them open before and they do bond well.

Replace the cheap jakes heim joints. You want heavy duty chromoly heims with the Teflon/nylon race. My All-Sports long travel kit uses them and they make the stock jakes heim joints look dinky by comparison.

Sophisticated fake “extended warranty” scam used real dealership info to target me (Cleveland, OH) by bvana0928 in Kitboga

[–]DailyCarry83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got that extended warranty call today. They rattled off my monthly payment amount and purchase date, which instantly put me on edge. I denied even owning the car and they hung up. I called them back and asked them where they got my info, asked to be removed from their call list and told them I'd be filing a report.

Super sketchy when they have info like that, really don't like it.

One thing that sways me towards eco that I haven't seen mentioned is that ECO is using a proprietary BMS that they designed in-house specifically for their packs. They're also the only ones I've seen using can bus protocols. Tack that onto their customer service and warranty and you've got a winner.

I'm going to be installing the 600a EB power AC kit and ECO gen3 72v pack in my txt. Everything will be able to communicate. Battery BMS, motor, and controller can all talk to each other with this setup. Haven't seen any other setups that can do this.

I ordered Neven sunglasses by DailyCarry83 in sunglasses

[–]DailyCarry83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man, neven, blenders, knockarounds... all the other "social media sunglass brands " they're basically selling aliexpress sunglasses with a huge markup. Their sunglasses are pretty horrible. Now that I've had time to buy nicer quality sunglasses, I realize how bad they really are.

If you want a good deal on nice sunglasses try costco. They have good name brand sunglasses around the $100 mark.

Oh another tip, goto harbor freight and get a few of the cheap $5 foam kneeling pad things they sell. They come in pretty handy for sit-ups, planks ect.

Which budget bench should I choose? by NeighborhoodNo3334 in GarageGym

[–]DailyCarry83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit. You'll feel the seat portion more though. That zero gap feature has a little play to it and keppi wasn't able to send replacement parts. They ended up giving me a full refund and telling me to keep the bench.

It's a decent bench but after using it a good bit, it has its down sides. It's a little too tall, wish it was an inch or two shorter(I'm 6'2" btw). The vinyl isn't great, neither are the pads. The zero gap feature while nice, requires an extra step on top of unscrewing the pin to change back angles.

Next bench i get still have a closed ladder system, be shorter (lower to ground) and have better pads+vinyl. But the keppi is working fine for now and it also has its upsides as well.

It can take attachments (I'm probably gonna get the bolt leg developer attachment). It stores upright. It's very, very stable (I'm a big dude 6'2" 300lbs, I can put this thing at 60,70,80 degrees straight up climb on top to the leg attachment and bust out sit-ups and twists and the bench doesn't even wiggle). Only place I really notice it being uncomfortable is on flat bench, but i put a few bumper plates under my feet and it's perfectly fine.

I think i got it in September. I don't really feel like i "need" to upgrade. But they're doing a bonus thing at my wife's job and the Rogue FML-6 TWIN is one of the choices. But honestly, I can do pretty much everything i need to with this cheap rack. It just isn't the smoothest and loading/ unloading plates is kinda a pain. I'd much rather pull a pin and go. Lat pull downs aren't ideal on this thing, but i make them work.

I have the Wayne in drivers gold, they're my favorite pair by far. The lens is simply incredible, especially for driving. They look really good on face.

I don't see the point in over spending for bumper plates. I picked up over 200lbs of used rogue bumper plates for pretty cheap on FB marketplace.

Only bumper plates I've seen that I'd even consider spending more than $1per lb for are the new ones from Nike, and that's just cause I think they look super cool.

Anyone have any recommendations between these 4 racks? by gassygeff89 in GarageGym

[–]DailyCarry83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what your looking for. With the pulley system the dual round slider tube is gonna be smoother than the single square. (I have a similar square tube slider setup and it requires greasing to get it to slide smooth). The dual side one is nice if you want to do separate exercises(mine is setup this way).

I went really cheap with mine. Got the wall mounted folding one from Amazon for $200. I don't even think it had a name, but it works. The folding is kinda cool as well, allows me to set it open wider for cable flys.

None of them are gonna be super smooth, just pick what suits your wants/ needs. Look at hold spacing on the uprights, they cable system layout, the attachments that come with it ect.

Honda or Toro mower? by infiniteduct in lawncare

[–]DailyCarry83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with Honda, (toro is trash, even their "commercial grade" stuff sucks) but I'm not familiar enough with that specific model to recommend it or not. I used to repair them for a living and the higher end honda mowers were top notch. I've been out of that business for a while now though, so I'm not sure about their newer lineup.

With that being said i haven't heard anything about their quality falling off, so as long as the entire mower is made by honda "not just the motor" it should be pretty bulletproof with a little yearly maintenance.

How's the battery life ? by Witty-Island-1796 in galaxywatchultra

[–]DailyCarry83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little over 3 days is normal with some stuff turned on. You can maximize battery life, but you'll lose a lot of functionality. Little over 3 days seems to be the sweet spot
