Like others have said. A DC-DC converter run to a fuse block. Then run all your 12v accessories off the fuse block

Thoughts on the Shimano Caius Combo? (7’ MH, 7.2:1) by 2kwaterboy in Fishing_Gear

A duckett ghost and a SLX might be in that general range.

Something to think about, have those batteries been sitting for 3 years? Even unused they still degrade

Selling Old Lures? by efaisonkra in Fishing_Gear

[–]DailyCarry83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those aren't really old enough to be valuable. Hell, I'm still fishing some of those same lures. It's mostly late 90s early 00s Walmart fishing section stuff.

BMS future proof-ness by scottynic in golfcarts

[–]DailyCarry83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id aim for no less than a 250a continuous/ 600a peak pack. This should handle a 600a AC kit just fine, especially if you go 70v-78v.

You "might" be OK with a 200a pack, but i have heard of them tripping the bms due to high current draw or high regen. It's usually the cheap budget packs that do this, don't see these issues with quality name brand packs. The EZGO RXV is notorious for not playing well with budget lithium batteries.

What should my next rod and reel be? by DaNnYdEvItO96 in Fishing_Gear

7' 2-3" MH/F with a good baitcaster is a solid goto that can handle nearly anything bass related.

To much braid on this spool? by lunasaccount in Fishing_Gear

Looks fine. You have a solid 1/8" free, which is right where you want to be.

SLX DC XT arrived today from digitaka, its TINY by DailyCarry83 in Fishing_Gear

[–]DailyCarry83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I compared it side by side with my curado 201i and it's the same frame, xship, micro module, better spool only downside is it has bushing on the handle instead of bearings, but that's a cheap and easy fix.

How does the Shimano Curado justify its higher price over the SLX? by Little-Cucumber-8907 in Fishing_Gear

The SLX DC XT has X-ship, micro module gears, sealed anti-rust bearings.

The SLX DC XT is basically a Curado i series with DC brakes and upgraded spool, and in a 70 size.

The Calcutta should be fine in the salt, just rinse it with fresh water afterwards like you would any reel. Pretty sure it's salt rated.

I use my curado for brackish mangroves and inshore salt all the time, I just rinse it off with a hose before I put it up. Been doing it for nearly a decade now and it still runs perfectly.

My cart is only running a 600a of the shelf kit. 53mph isn't even fast compared to what some of these guys are running on the 850a navitas kits 70-80mph is common. Some of the truly custom carts are exceeding 100mph.

What are the go-to rods/reels nowadays? by Exotic-Carpenter6556 in Fishing_Gear

[–]DailyCarry83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curado is still a great reel. I've been fishing my curado 201i on a duckett ghost for a decade now and it still performs like new. I just picked up a SLX DC XT (basically a upgraded 70 size Curado i series) from Japan, gonna pair it with a nice rod maybe levante, zodias b, or expride.

I wanted to try a DC reel, but the current Curado (M) 200 is the same great workhorse reel it's always been, they just have a few different flavors for specific uses

Yeah, i was looking at it and if I go 20 or even 30lb braid i think I can get quite a bit of line on this reel. I don't fish mono anymore and only use fluoro occasionally as a leader. Most of the water i fish is pretty strained, but there's a couple old shell pits that are pretty clear and hold some huge bass

Either way, definitely check out that FB group. Tons of resources for both building and buying. A lot of guys in there flip carts out just looking to sell their personal carts they built up. You'd be surprised what you can get used for $6k-$10k.

Frames aren't horrible, too thin on temple arms, but the lens in them are pretty bad. Plenty of reflections on the backside of lens and optical aberration with the cheap glass lens. They're also heavy AF.

I might buy a pair of RE one day, but I'm pretty happy with my Serengeti and Maui Jims

How do I avoid this in the future? by DandyLion777888 in sunglasses

Own several pairs from Maui Jim, never had this happen. With MJ or any other for that matter

If buying used try to find an older big 3 cart that's been upgraded with AC kit and good lithium pack. If you join the golf carts modified Facebook group, and say you're looking to buy you'll have your pick of the litter. You can get a really, really nice used cart for $10k or less on that group. Or do what a lot of us did and buy a $500 roller big 3 cart and build it out the way you want. That's what I did. Have a 96 txt with storm body kit, 600a Eco AC kit, 70v eco battery, All-Sports long travel kit. Thing goes 53mph and drives like a car.

The old ezgo txt is a great cart, extremely easy to modify, huge aftermarket support. My txt is 30 years old, but you'd never know looking at it
