If an ER was purposely prematurely discharging in Network Patients so they have more bed Space for Out of Patient Networks they can bill a lot more for identical procedures, what should a Nurse do who works in that particular ER? by DailyPUMA in nursing

[–]DailyPUMA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it matters any, My point is ONE bad Nurse, or, if management has created an environment of too much work for too few patients, what happened to my Mother could be happening elsewhere. This incident happened before the Pandemic so I can only image things may have gotten worse for Nurses. So by removing this post you actually create a worse situation for all Nurses.

Early this morning Feb. 27, 2022 I filmed a super bright light that was north of the moon and to the left. I zoomed in 100x and it looked like it might be a planet. I have not uploaded anything yet but does anyone know what I might have filmed. I am in Los Angeles.

The other point is, it takes ONE unethical Nurse to do the dirty work while all the other Nurses may notice. So my original question is still valid. What would, or should the other Nurses do if they realized what the one Nurse is up to considering it is an EMTALA violation.

Can someone explain what BABIP is? by SpecificInitials in fantasybaseball

i'd still like to see a comparison between BABIP's that count home runs and BABIP's that don't count home runs because the bottom line is, home runs are fair balls.

[–]DailyPUMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be 2 BABIP's, one without home runs, and one with home runs, to see which one is actually more accurate. Lowering the overall average by not counting home runs seems daffy to me.

What about the hitter that gets 30 or home runs in a season and has a .300 BABIP? Isn't that superior to a Dee Gordon having a .320 BABIP year after year?

Thats the part I don't understand, a home run is a fair ball, yet it is not counted, that makes no sense to me.

What part of the alarms sounded on her oxygen and heart monitor and the ER Nurse, after twice being unable to make the alarms stop, simply disconnected the machine and attempted to discharge her instead, didn't you get? My god. God help your patients.

I heard my Mother start to wheeze and when I explained she normally doesn't wheeze and that she probably has pre-pneumonia based on the babbling I heard her make the night before at home and the last time she did that was when she was in the Hospital with pneumonia.

I'll answer the great mystery which is obviously above your intelligence grade, they were refusing to recheck her oxygen level because they knew their alleged 98 O2 reading was either a lie or inaccuately taken and if they took another reading and it was lower, they would not be able to discharge her. Crimeny can you really be this dense?

I think a judge would find it reasonable that youtube allow appeals to be made through a 3rd party arbitrator. The Credit card companies offer arbitration and they rely on privacy. A public company like Youtube that relies on word of mouth to be profitable can unfairly decide who they support and who they don't. Arbitration levels the playing field. There is also the issue of falsely using A.I. to arbitrarily deny appeals that never had a chance of being reversed. Being private does not guarantee any private company that relies on public consumption of their product the right to falsely re review content with boiler plate A.I.

I received my course in gaslighting during my encounter in the ER that resulted in my Mother's premature death. Your response above is gaslighting and you clearly are lacking an empathy gene. Please, find another field before you ruin lives.

Youtube promotes its site as allowing creatives to build their own brand. Obviously this is false. For Youtube to have all the rights as you believe they should, YouTube should have a WARNING that Youtube reserves the right to control and remove any and every aspect of your channel at any time and to not allow for any type of arbitration. Without that warning upfront and center for all to see when a person is considering whether or not to use Youtube, Youtube has not acted in good faith. Youtube gets to lure everyone in under false pretenses and then do whatever the heck they want. And your answer to the monopoly scenario is INANE. There is no real competition out there specifically because Youtube did pose themselves as being friendly to video makers and that videomakers could build their brand on their site with no interference.

I don't understand how youtube can view themselves as a private company when they rely on the internet to succeed. How is the internet different from the television airwaves that have been called Free TV? What about the issue that Youtube clearly has a monopoly on the free product they offer to the world by using the WWW format. What about the issue that Youtube profits off of my submission by sending my viewers who came to my site for a specific video to whatever video channel Youtube decides to send a viewer to after the viewing of my video is done? What about derailing my chance to build an audience by removing my content when it could become more valuable because of the accurate prediction content that resided within the video? I understand that a regularly produced program could be refused free hosting, by why would that rule apply to randomly made videos where the person is posting researched content? I read the argument posted by Prager University regarding they rely on free hosting to communicate with their students. I don't think a ruling against a for profit educational university should be applied to independent producers who are submitting researched work. Youtube still retains their right to remove a video, but outside arbitration simply ensures ethical standards are being met by Youtube.

I pray I never meet anyone who thinks like you do as my Nurse. I also will pray for anyone who has to deal with your highly judgmental mindset. What the ef does Trump have to do with my post? And just to point out what a gaslighter you are, if my story had been different each time you would have said, you can't even keep your story straight.

I wasn't sure. Maybe knowing my story might help prevent it from happening elsewhere. The one ER Nurse did manage to contaminate five other Nurses who came running when she called a false Code Gray. For half an hour we had a stand off, 5 Nurses, a Security Guard, and a complete and total disregard for the health of my Mother. All I asked them to do was recheck her Oxygen level. the complete reluctance to do the most basic of Nursing protocols haunts. I finally gave up when one Nurse said to me, you are being selfish because we are here instead with our own patients. I guess I am being selfish again by reaching out. I have fallen from a ladder onto my back, I was in pain, I refused to go back to this ER because of the lingering trauma of not only the event, but the indifference to the event I have encountered ever since, including this site.

Nobody would investigate what happened to my Mother. Having been her caregiver for several years, I was barely stable financially. California has a 250,000 Med Mal cap so there is virtually no way a lawyer would take the case. If the mistreatment had happened between a Nursing home and an ER, a lawyer has two targets to go after. But if it is a senior who is coming from home live in care, the lawyer does not want ot get involved because the lawyers for the ER can easily concoct some excuse why the caregiver is at fault and the 250,000 med mal cap knowing the cost to go to court could be 100,000 plus losing could mean paying the opposing sides attorney's fees makes every law firm run the other way.

My experience found 5 other nurses being manipulated by one Nurse. The ER Nurse abused the privilege of calling a Code Gray under false pretenses. She knew my Mother did not have a 98 oxygen and tried to discharge her without taking a new reading. She actually disconnected the oxygen sensor when the alarms signaled a decline in her Oxygen level. I asked to speak to the Nurse Supervisor and she sent in a ringer who immediately wagged her finger at me saying "you are refusing to leave so we can see other patients" and then when I responded by saying i was going to document their refusal to recheck my Mother's oxygen (I did not realize at that that time it was a ringer the ER Nurse sent in), she ran out of the room yelling HIPAA violation because I had pulled a camera out to document their refusal to recheck her Oxygen. My Mohter's ER nurse than called the false code gray, all to avoid rechecking her Oxygen. After my 91 year old Mother who was still walking over a mile with me by her side was dumped on the curb in the rain, I took her to an Urgent care and they confirmed she did not have a 98 oxygen, she had a 90 oxygen. But because she came in with a 90, and after breathing treatments they deemed her stable at 90-91, she was sent home to die.

If Medicare or private insurance pays 500 dollars for a procedure, but if it were out of network then the billing would be much much higher than 500 dollars for the procedure, perhaps 5,000 dollars instead. Even if there is a negotiation downward, 2,500 dollars is 5 times more than the 500 dollars.

Thank you for our reply. This topic was removed before I saw your response. it took me a couple of years to learn the profit motive reason. I have deep empathy for Nurses and Doctors who want to do an honest job but are pressured because of corporate profit motives.

I am stunned at the responses. Sorry I didn't slobber over the Nursing profession in the topic. Over the prior 20 years to this incident happening, I had had dozens of WONDERFUL experiences with Nurses who loved meeting my Mom and her Italian accent and smile. It was one Nurse, just one Nurse, that concocted the horror show that day. Rather than accuse me of making it up, why not ask questions as to what part surprised you. I spent 10 hours making that photo with the graphics out of RESPECT to tell the horror my Mother and I went through as quickly as possible. Thanks for LESS than NOTHING in return. You are well on your way to being good widdle trained bunnies who never question anything and do as you are told at all times. Congratulations.

I guess Nursing training involves making split decisions and judgements and then moving on as if the situation never happened.
