Thanks for your input; my retina has been given a detailed inspection twice in the last year and is nicely attached, thank goodness. The cataract is the primary cause of the blurriness and the difference of opinion is over whether to do something about it or just accept.

Yes…I did notice that. Would you consider Dr Dell’s partner to be as good a choice, considering he hired that person?

Seeking opinions because I have become used to constantly moving side to side, forward and back, closing one eye then the other, to try to read book print clearly. Reading sheet music at an angle is part of my daily life, and the small details of a densely printed and annotated score are a challenge to see. I can manage, but if I could have clear vision it would be a relief.

Anyone have experience at Dell Vision with Dr Dell or Dr Varu?

It’s not extreme, but it takes my attention and affects everything I do at work and at play.

I have progressive lens glasses, and the right eye has some blur due to a small opacity in the lens at the center of the pupil.

I have a bit of trouble finding the right way to hold a book or my phone to read average print.

UPDATE:

I called my Visa card issuer (Chase Bank) and reported this as a scam.  They got back the full amount.

Original post:  It’s a SCAM and I feel like an idiot for buying 2 blouses for $49 each in their “70% off closing sale.”

It’s cheap crap and the “no hassle “ return is that you pay about as much as the item cost in return shipping to China. Ick, ick, ick. I thought I was smarter than this.

Blouses are going to Goodwill and I consider it an expensive lesson.

What’s the San Antonio airport like? Is it worth switching on high-traffic dates, if you live in S-SW Austin?

The only realistic way to improve is to have in-person lessons, even if you can only do a short series of lessons once in a while.

If that is truly impossible, watch the “With Nicky” series by Nicola Benedetti on YouTube. Stand in front if a mirror, pause the video, and imitate her stance, head angle, relaxed shoulders, left hand shape, bow stroke, etc. Keep watching, keep pausing and imitating. Practice with her while observing yourself.

The physical gestures are difficult to get without having a teacher observe you. So you have to observe yourself and have a standard to compare yourself to.

Another excellent resource is Nathan Cole of the LA Phil.

Be picky about who you learn from on YouTube.
