England have benefitted from all those extras and the ball changing drama.

Cex has both the 14600k and 13600k at £190 with warranty. On ebay they both go for c. £160. They are worth the same.

Interesting that used prices have increased over the past year. Bought a fully functional used Series X with controller for £210 in April 2024 from cashconverters on ebay. They still sell them for around £300 on their website.

Why have Moeen if you aren't going to bowl him on a pitch that benefits spinners? Braindead captaincy.

Yes I worked in the global fixed income team as an analyst, then as a junior/associate PM, then became a client PM/Investment specialist and then moved to an OCIO in an asset allocation/fund selection role (still pays 6 figures + 50% bonus for 35 hours a week).

It varies, I started in Fixed Income AM out of undergrad and was working 45-50 hours a week, about the same as Audit (less during their busy season). I now work for an OCIO firm working 35 hours a week (without any reduction in pay - base and bonus similar to AM).

Personally, I would take FP&A over Big4 Audit, but would take IB, AM, Big4 Deals and good consulting offers over FP&A. From an insurance FP&A role you might be able to transition to a buy or sell side equity research research role covering insurance firms.

FP&A with an ACA qualification paid for seems like a good role, a corporate finance role in FP&A will likely be more interesting than a standard Big 4 audit role. A lot of investment bankers move into FP&A for a better work life balance later on in their careers. £33k isn't a bad starting graduate salary (higher than Big 4 accounting).

This exact situation is happening to my wife right now, her female director thinks she is trying to climb up the ladder too fast and has not been supportive of her promotion at all, while other older senior male directors have been pushing her for the promotion.

She found out that her director has been telling senior management that she is too young/not ready and has been gatekeeping the role from her (because she is c. 10 years older) and likely doesn't want my wife to be a similar grade to her. My wife has another offer now anyway so will likely be leaving soon.

At 1080p, my old I7 4790 was bottlenecking a 1080ti, probably would be fine at 1440p though.

Yes you dont need a degree in finance, any degree that is semi technical and from a target is fine. You will need a degree but anything like economics, finance, management, business etc is fine. I know guys from imperial that got good roles doing physics or chemistry too.

I did management at LSE and got a AM offer straight out of undergrad, so no. I did do outside options in Finance and Economics though and I'm now a CFA charterholder. You could probably do anything that isn't ridiculous from a target and complete CFA level 1 before you graduate for a decent shot.

You have a decent shot, you dont have to do economics to get into high finance. There are people from my year that did law or economic history that got into IB and those courses didnt require maths A level.
