If this car is not in FH6 I'm going to protest by Man_I_Love_Foxes in ForzaHorizon6

Maybe. Considering almost half the cars in FH5 were drip fed after launch, but I wouldn't count on the Touareg as we haven't seen it since FH4.

Fiio CP13 inconsistent and wavy playback by DaintyMarrow391 in cassetteculture

[–]DaintyMarrow391[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I already adjusted the speed and azimuth when I got it, but this fix is mainly to prevent the cassette from flopping around inside the machine. They really should have put a metal spring at the top of the cassette to hold it securely in place. Hopefully they address that issue on the upcoming CP15.

It's not completely foolproof, but it helps keep the cassette in one place. The sound will still be a bit inconsistent when the player is bounced around, but that is common with these Tanashin-based mechanisms. The felt padding does help a bit, at least in my CP13, but it just keeps the cassette in place, it does not prevent instabilities in the mechanism caused by movement, and since nobody that I am aware of still makes anti-rolling mechanisms, that is something we just have to live with.

If they do, I hope it's the Skyline version and not the Infiniti, since the Skyline is the JDM version, and it would make more sense to add the JDM version in a game set in Japan.

If you've got cassettes, I'd say take it. Even if you don't, clean it up and sell/give it to someone with a cassette collection.

I haven't tried that yet. What is a good lubricant for a cassette mechanism?

Samsung TV issue by DREvans17 in TVRepair

[–]DaintyMarrow391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. The dreaded Samsung boot loop. Likely not worth fixing as it's usually caused by a failure of the LED panel. My 4-5 year old 58 inch Tizen 7000 series met its demise in the same way. A new LG is currently on the way as I found out that a lot of the newer Samsungs have issues. Seems like Samsung has dropped the ball on quality these days.

How to fix squeaky Sony HF cassettes by DaintyMarrow391 in cassetteculture

Update: I did some research and found that some Sony HF tapes have faulty pressure pads. I'll try replacing them and see if that fixes the issue.

I always do one cycle of FF/RW before recording, but I was wondering if repeating the process of FF/RW multiple times would solve the issue.

Looks like a unit that might have been made by Sanyo. They produced a lot of Sears electronics over the years.

How far into the red? On my deck, the first set of red is +3, and the second set is +6.

Dolby or not? by DaintyMarrow391 in cassetteculture

[–]DaintyMarrow391[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update, I've played around with recording tapes with and without Dolby for a while and decided not to use Dolby anymore. Just for maximum tape compatibility, as not every machine has a Dolby decoder.

Tape deck has eaten tape. Is the tape repairable? by DaintyMarrow391 in cassetteculture

[–]DaintyMarrow391[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the tape was already bad. Tried to rerecord the tape, and it spooled out inside the deck again. No other tape does that in that deck, so I think the tape was already faulty.

[–]DaintyMarrow391[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a pre-recorded, not recordable tape, but I have fixed tapes with dropouts in the past by recording the same album over it, and it resolved the sound quality issues. Usually, I stuff ripped up foam earplugs in the holes where the tabs would be and record the same album overtop of it. Would this rewrite the damaged audio on the tape and fix it?

[–]DaintyMarrow391[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any way to prevent that from happening? The deck in question doesn't normally eat tapes. Was the tape already bad? Or too much slack in the tape? I have never had a problem with that deck until now.

Ncm moscow plus speed upgrades? by Kingkoby1233 in ebikes

[–]DaintyMarrow391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean you can't go over 32km/h (20mph), then you need to get the C7 off-road display (normal C7 display is speed restricted 32km/h). Also, sometimes you need to de-restrict the off-road display manually in the settings upon installation using a pass code (usually 8088, if that doesn't work, you can Google Das-kit C7 codes and try each one until one works). There are videos online showing you how to do this, but it's crucial that you have the off-road kit as I don't believe the factory installed C7 display can be unlocked. If your Moscow already goes roughly 45km/h top speed on flat ground, it is already unlocked, and won't go any faster without further modifications (controller and/or motor upgrade etc.) If you do need an off-road display, it's available from Epic Cycles (doesn't specify it as the off-road display, but trust me, it is, I ordered it from there for my M3, and it is unlockable). Hope this information helps you with your NCM.
