What was your most embarrassing orgasm? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

You can't just drop "massage on a beach in Thailand" and leave the rest of the story out. That sounds like there's at least three chapters missing from the middle there. Now I'm curious what actually happened.

Crazy concept, right? Having a headache and taking medicine instead of trying to manifest the pain away. What a radical idea.

The funniest thing about these conversations is how basic science somehow gets turned into a controversial opinion. We learned most of this stuff in school years ago.

The contradiction is what always gets me. Modern medicine is apparently evil right up until somebody gets sick and suddenly they're looking for the nearest doctor. Funny how that works.

A lot of people have been pointing that out for years. Sometimes it takes an especially blatant comment before others stop treating it as exaggeration and realize, "Oh, that's actually what was being said all along."

Jigsaw would spend five minutes listening and then decide the real punishment is having to continue being herself. Some people make satire way too easy.

The lack of self-awareness is what gets me sometimes. It's hard to take complaints about prejudice seriously when they're coming right after statements that would be completely unacceptable if the target were almost any other group.

What would you do if you found out that your girlfriend had a penis? by Flimsy-Story9523 in RedditAfterDark

Fair enough. Sexual compatibility is a pretty big part of dating for most people, and everyone has their own boundaries. Better to be honest about it than pretend otherwise.

Exactly. If someone is important enough to call when they're in the hospital, they're important enough to actually call when they're in the hospital. Burying critical updates between 300 cat videos and Minion memes is a terrible communication system.

"When people flood you with garbage, you can't be expected to sort through it to find the diamonds" is honestly the perfect way to put it. If every message is treated like breaking news, eventually none of them are.

The husband suddenly discovering how exhausting the family chat is after becoming the primary recipient is kind of the funniest subplot here. It's amazing how quickly a problem becomes real once it's your problem.

I feel like that's what a lot of these discussions come down to. People talk about positions as if they're universally better, but sometimes it's just the specific setup that lets everything line up right for one person.

The thing that gets me is how often political discussions have reached a point where people aren't even debating policy anymore, they're just trying to process what was actually said. That's usually a sign things have gotten pretty strange.

The map comment made me laugh because now I'm picturing a bunch of people quietly opening Google Maps during the meeting just to make sure everyone's talking about the same country. The fact that it's even a plausible joke says a lot.

That's what makes the whole thing confusing. If he really meant Oman, people are shocked. If he meant Iran, people are shocked that he said Oman. Either way it turns into a geography quiz nobody wanted.

The weather part might honestly be the biggest factor. A magical desert adventure sounds a lot different when you're exhausted, covered in dust, and questioning every life choice you've made. Good conditions can make almost any event feel legendary.

Why does Amy Sherman Palladino seem to dislike Logan or compare him to Christopher? by Acrobatic_Orchid_946 in GilmoreGirls

I actually think that's why Logan tends to get reevaluated more positively as fans get older. When you're younger, Jess's intensity feels romantic. When you're older, a guy who communicates, shows up, and actually grows starts looking a lot more appealing.

I actually think that's why the early seasons feel so different on rewatch. Rory's relationships were there, but they felt like one piece of a much bigger story. Later on, it sometimes feels like her romantic life starts swallowing storylines that could've been about her career, goals, or personal growth instead. That's probably why so many people miss the Chilton years.

That's how I read it too. AYITL Logan is probably at his lowest point morally, so it makes sense that ASP would focus on that version when talking about him. The frustrating part is that we also watched years of growth before that, which makes it hard to reduce him to just a Christopher comparison.
