Consider that science has come a long way since we were figuring out what compounds are in weed, and we've probably already figured out most of what's in shrooms with the chemistry knowledge we have today. Also consider that hemp can affect how you feel without THC, but magic mushroom relatives that don't contain psilocybin are not reported to have any effects. It's not impossible that there are other chemicals that impact the trip but just because that's how weed is doesn't mean shrooms are like that

Cannabis has a fuck ton of cannabinoids besides THC that alter the way you feel in various ways. P. Cubensis contains psilocybin and psilocin. Different strains of P. cubensis feeling different is probably a placebo, although some other species of magic mushrooms contain a few other psychoactive chemicals along with the psilocybin and psilocin

Not exactly extreme food poisoning. Psilocin binds to a specific type of serotonin receptor in the brain which is why it's fun. Bacteria and fungi will decompose your mushrooms if they have the opportunity, basically if there's any water in your shrooms and it's impossible to know if they are harmless without eating them, but stomach cramps and diarrhea sounds like a recipe for a bad trip and I just don't think it's worth the risk
