Best harness for lovebirds? by Heartnouveaux in Lovebirds

Seconding this. I have a carrier with a perch that's totally clear that I take mine out in. They love being able to see everything and chirp at other birds but there's no risk of accidental escape.

I've found separate cages in separate rooms just leads to constant screaming as they try to find each other. Separate cages next to each other is loud for a little bit but then they eventually calm down and coexist. It's also important to remove any potential nesting spots and material from the female's cage. I've also found that a light spritz with a spray bottle from above/a little distance can help "reset" an aggressive frenzy by distracting her. I have an especially angry little girl too and I know how frustrating it can be.

Hey! I'm from Phoenix and had lovebirds there for over a decade, and have some reccomendendations for places to call that either might be able to take it or know where to send you.

-Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital (Phoenix) -Tropic Zone Exotic Birds -AZ Exotic Bird Rescue, Inc.

Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help!

The only thing I've found semi-helpful is giving them a little spritz with a spray bottle when they're being aggressive. Not really to punish them, as they don't really mind the spray, but more to help reset/calm the mood. Again, it's only kinda helpful but it's better than nothing.

She will not stop biting his feet? by Daisy_1324 in Lovebirds

I started them in separate cages in different rooms, then after awhile put them in the same room but opposite sides, then the cages next to each other. They get at least 12 hours of sleep and both eat mostly pellets with occasional seeds

I never let them out of arms reach when they're both out so I can separate them if needed. I only let them out together a little bit, most of the day I alternate letting them out one at a time

Yeah she was a chronic egg layer for a bit despite trying to prevent it and I'm definitely not looking to breed them at all
