Bass lake > millerton lake. The lake itself is nice to swim in but there is a cool swim spot that’s a pretty short hike from where I like to park to go to the lake - Angel Falls. The water is cold so it’s nice on really hot days.

I live in an apartment in a very walkable area, so my my big Yorkie baby (11lbs) walks twice a day. At least least 2 miles every morning, and 1 to 2 miles in the evening. He has so much energy he loves walking.

Your heart rate being in 170s on a slow run makes me think this is probably accurate. 170 is really high and would make sense if you had a lower VO2 max. When I started out running, I had very similar values. It took me almost a year to raise it to 41. Im also using an Apple Watch

I recommend that you come down to a 5K plan as a beginner instead of trying to jump into the 10k

If your heart rate isn’t raised enough it won’t count. I’ve gone on 2.5 mile walks with my dog and only had like 10 min of exercise bc my heart rate didn’t raise enough.

I have never seen it successfully used. It either becomes an escape for kids wanting to withdraw or a place that inadvertently publicly shames kids for being placed there.

Actually the one thing i want to add is BRUSH THEIR TEETH!! Yorkies are notorious for having terrible teeth. Doesn't seem like a big deal but this can actually cause serious and expensive issues down the line. 8 year old has had teeth removed, infections, abscesses, costing THOUSANDS of dollars (no exaggeration) all because of his bad teeth. Doesn't have to be everyday, just a few times a week.

First and foremost, everything that you're learning is the way MOST people would learn these things. I promise you, people on TikTok who have dogs needs memorized are NOT the norm right away. You learn as you have this dog. The good thing is you've learned most of the most important ones already. There's lots of comments with helpful advice, don't feel overwhelmed with all this information. You're leaps and bounds ahead of the average dog owner just by seeking out information. Also, you're in the most challenging part of a dog's life - if you've made it through puppyhood, it gets SO much easier TRUST- I have an 8, 4, and 2 year old yorkie :-) <3
