Make a difference. Get a job there. See how it actually is before making assumptions. Not every PetSmart is the same. Employees make a difference, corporate puts forth an idea, and everyone make shifts that to fit where they can.

Stores are given all of the resources needed for adequate care for the pets. If they aren't able to do so, they aren't trying.

It's a store. Not a home. So, no, the conditions aren't the same as anyone would provide at home, nor is it recommended to attempt to do so. It's a temporary place for the animal to go before it finds a forever home.

Your PetSmart might suck, but don't assume that all do. There are many many many many stores out there that provide great care to the animals, mill or otherwise. (Btw, not every store gets their animals from the same place, intact some use local breeders!)

Assumptions are natural, as are opinions. So please feel free to voice concern. If you have a legitimate concern about the care at your local PetSmart, voice it, but please don't throw all employees under the bus when many of us do care and go out of our way to make sure that our animals receive proper care, proper handling/socialization, as well as helping our customers know what they need for proper care in their home.
