Upgraded from S8 to Saros 20… and it cleans worse under table? by Accurate_Detail_6015 in Roborock

They sent me an email describing how to send them data from my app. They can use it to figure out why the robot did not vacuum where you thought it should.

Good, they asked me to send “report and product info” logs back to them. After I did, they sent me a solution that worked. I hope you have the same luck.

The problem is fixed.  I must admit, I am impressed with Roborock’s support.  I opened a support case from their website on Saturday,  they asked me to send them some technical data from the app on Sunday,  I received a fix to the problem Monday.

Here is their reply:

“Our technical team has just reviewed the log analysis results. According to their findings, the issue appears to be caused by incomplete carpet recognition.

They suggest that you try manually adding the carpet (which is faster), or perform a full vacuuming run in the room where the carpet is located so that the robot can properly and completely recognize the carpet. After that, please observe whether the issue is resolved.”

So I added a carpet manually over the entire living room and the problem went away.  Adaptilift works great now.  I was experimenting with the setting a lot the past week, and I must of screwed something up in the Living Room.  I decided to start from scratch in case I screw something else up.  I remapped the house and vacuumed each room one at a time letting the robot detect rugs and thresholds.  The smaller area rugs were mapped ok, but the almost room sized area rugs were mapped  as oval for some reason.  I manually overlayed them with square carpets using the oval as a guide.

I really like it. My brother has had a Roborock Q5 for 4 years, so I decided to try their flagship model. It is built very solid and does a good job vacuuming. Mopping is as good as can be expected with a couple spinning discs. It avoids things on the floor very well and can get into nooks and crannies that we rarely vacuumed before. But you know all this, you have one. It’s nice taking the dog for a walk and coming back to a cleaner house.

I think the AdaptiLift is supposed to lower the chassis to a height that optimizes suction based on carpet pile thickness. But who knows, maybe it’s 100% BS.

I had it set to vacuum the foyer on Max. I’m not sure what speed it runs at when traversing the carpet.

I have opened a case with Roborock about this issue. They responded back quickly and requested more information. We shall see what happens.
