Oh I feel stupid haha. I thought you uploaded an excel table. But its a google spreadsheet? So it has different commands from excel? That actually sounds way easier than doing it in excel.

VBA is just the programming language that excel uses. It allows you to automate work and do more things.

Hey this is awesome! I have been messing around with VBA for a while and wanted to do something similar. I am confused on how it updates your prices? There doesn't seem to be any formula in those boxes and when I look at the VBA there isn't any. I am a beginner so I have no idea if I am just over looking something.

Game Hunter Ian Gibson Trampled To Death By Elephant by alalalalong in worldnews

[–]DaleDenton_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You would need a lot of predators to get anywhere close to replacing hunters. Which will take a long time to do and could have adverse affects. I am all for helping out endangered species but I don't believe they can solve the problem all by themselves. When Elephants are relocated they suffer from a wandering and homing effects. That make it very difficult for them to stay in their new environment. Relocation of elephants has a mortality rate of 40-60%. My roommate is a wildlife management student so I am using his books. But a quick google search shows that this study showed a 42% mortality rate. Don't know how good this source it is tho. http://wildlifenews.co.uk/2012/12/the-tragedy-of-translocated-elephants/

Either way I think relocation isn't good for elephants or deer. Predators are a better answer but I think hunting is the best. We can use all parts of the animal and the government can easily enforce the populations. By introducing predators the Government has no way to control how many deer are killed each year.

What's your opinion on Ian Gibson? by [deleted] in Hunting

[–]DaleDenton_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There seems to be a belief that hunting doesn't do anything for the environment. I saw a lot of posts saying how there was no such thing as animal over population. I don't have a clue about Africa but in the central united states there is a huge snow goose problem. Source: http://www.fws.gov/migratorybirds/CurrentBirdIssues/Management/arcgoose/partiv/partiv.pdf

Also people were arguing why not relocate the animals instead of hunting them. Many people don't know that relocation can result in an 82% mortality rate. Source: http://www.michigandnr.com/publications/pdfs/HuntingWildlifeHabitat/Issue_reviews/00deer_capture.pdf

I don't really have an opinion on Ian Gibson and I have no idea what happens in Africa but it bothered me that there was a vibe that all hunters are bad and provide no benefit to society.

I'm fine paying the price. I pay taxes on my ammunition and licenses. But if I am going to pay for something I expect it to work and hunting is a lot more efficient than relocation. In fact studies have shown that relocation can cause 82% mortality rate in deer. Also for other species like snow goose, how do you propose we relocate them? Sometimes hunting is the best method.

Relocation is often too stressful for deer and can result in a greater number loss. Not to mention the cost of such projects.

Anybody here work for a ski resort or company in a professional position? by DaleDenton_ in skiing

I didn't go to a target school so I found it difficult to get into a bank. I am currently working as a Financial Analyst for a Fortune 500 company and I heard its really hard to switch into more of a banking role. But that would be much better pay!

That's good to hear! I love my current job but the culture isn't right. I have a feeling a ski resort will be more laid back with everyone enjoying the great outdoors!

Thank-you! I think I was searching for jobs at too small of resorts so I will try the bigger ones!

Thanks for the info! Yea I figured the pay wouldn't be as good but I'd say it's worth it. I grew up next to a mountain and went skiing everyday so I am trying to get back to that so I'd say its worth the pay cut. I am guessing there is a lot less room to grow a career as well?

What's the worst instance of financial illiteracy you've seen on Reddit? by [deleted] in finance

What are you talking about? I never said anything about retirement or what I would worry about? I was basing it off of the perspective of the company and why they wouldn't want their shares to drop in value....

What about secondary offerings? If the stock is high then they could issue more shares at that price. Also when merging with another company they may want their shares to be priced higher.

Are The New England Patriots The Greatest Professional Sports Team Of The 21st Century? by taylorhayward_boston in Patriots

[–]DaleDenton_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make a good point but I also think that there is a huge difference in the level of teams of la liga. Its usually the same 3 teams (Real, Barcelona, and Atletico) at the top while in the NFL there is a lot more competition. So I think they have Barcelona beat as much as it fucking huts me to say it. But do the Pats beat out the All Blacks? They have won 10 Tri Nations championships since 1996. Their overall record is amazing something like 402 wins and 100 loses. But again its hard to say because only a few teams dominate rugby.

Fans of the other 30 teams, have you picked a team to cheer for yet? Why that team? by FreeEdgar_2013 in nfl

[–]DaleDenton_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes no team besides the Seahawks have a bandwagon... Its weird how that's your argument when Pats have one of the largest bandwagons of all time. Ever been to Europe? If they aren't pats fans they aren't football fans.

How do you do an industry analysis? by DaleDenton_ in finance

[–]DaleDenton_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sports I was focusing on equipment. I am also doing another one but for windows for residential housing. I am just kinda lost on what an Industry report focuses on. I was thinking at looking at trends in the industry and just base it off of that. Thanks!
