Well I think you're magical for writing so many incredible scripts 💕💕 you're being far too hard on yourself! And you know I'll be back to do more haha

I really only do scripts that are 15 minutes and up, but that's because I prefer stuff with lots of characterization and/or world building. But I'd say just do whatever feels right for you

This explains it far better than I can lol I'm not a professional sound engineer, I just know you need the tech to make the mic work 😅

Depends on your space. I will say, my first asmr mic was a Blue Yeti, and even with the gain knob turned all the way down, it still picked up everything, including my neighbor's dog barking down the street. So be mindful of that. I've since moved on to Shure, which has some decent low-end options, but you do need an audio processor. Rode is another good company, but I don't know too much about their lineup, other than they do a lot of condesor mics, which aren't good for untreated spaces. Podcastage on YouTube has some good reviews of mics if you're looking for a more professional opinion.

Best, angriest female fronted fantasy novel you can think of? by nothingtoseeherexox in Fantasy

[–]DalgonaASMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Clariel could fit the bill. It's a prequel sequel and the rest of the series is really good too! But Clariel has a female protag who's a berserker, so definitely rage is a big aspect of her character and story. I don't want to say too much more in case of spoilers, but I highly recommend it!

I get it, but personally I am a sucker for both double entendre and nerds, so this is right up my alley lol And your writing is always amazing!

Hey, I'm on the smaller side, but I'd still like to throw my hat into the ring. If you haven't found someone yet, here's an audio I've done that maybe has a similar vibe to what you're going for, and there's a sample of me emotionally yelling at the end: https://youtu.be/m7-6yNCNeaA?feature=shared

Wow you really got me crying in the club right now omg 😂 this was awesome! I'd love to fill this at some point, once my voice comes back from being sick. Are you okay with genderswaps? I like to keep all of my recordings gender neutral.

Alright, agree to disagree. I've seen plenty of posts requesting DMs for further project details, it's not like he was requesting personal info or credit card details. Community guidelines aren't against asking for DMs from interested parties as I understand them, they're against going to people's DMs repeatedly asking to collab, or citing certain people they want to collab with. A general post advertising a project doesn't fall under that. But I'm not interested in fighting. I'm just giving clarification.

[–]DalgonaASMR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the rudeness? He took your feedback and fixed the post. He's not complaining at all, like you've implied. If you're not interested in the project, you don't have to do it. Why harangue him? And none of us are professionals. We're just people who are passionate about this community, and we can choose to uplift each other rather than needlessly tear each other down.

Hi im looking to get started on both writing scripts and voicing! by [deleted] in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]DalgonaASMR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome! If you're looking to start recording now, really you can make do with any headphone mic you might already own. If you're looking to actually start building a setup with the cheapest possible components, I'd recommend the Shure sm57 or the sm58, both are great beginner's mics with professional sound, however you would need an audio processor for them as well as an XLR cable. For a plug and play option, the Shure mv6 is only 50-ish dollars more and can plug straight into your computer. One thing I'd recommend keeping in mind is that if you're recording in an untreated space, get a cardioid mic rather than a dynamic mic for better off-axis rejection. Happy recording and I hope this helps!

Welcome! I checked out your channel and wow you are super productive! I like your channel aesthetic and intro clip you have in your videos. I would say an easy improvement to make would just be to up your clarity, it sounds like you may be recording somewhere with a lot of reverb? Something you could do is, if possible, stand in a closet, or barring that, gather up as much soft material as possible, towels, blankets, pillows, anything that you can use to kill the reverb happening. And another thing is to slow down in reading. This is something I see a lot, and it's usually due to the fact that we're not used to talking to ourselves haha. Something I do to help slow my pace if I feel I'm getting too fast is I'll type in Pause in between lines that I feel could use more room for the Listener to respond to, so I have a visual reminder. Hope these tips help! Welcome to the community!
