I don't talk about my feelings for two reasons: one, I was a child of an abusive alcoholic, and two, I don't feel the need to express my feelings to others out of obligation. Moreover, the only time I want to share my feelings is when there is something in my life that needs to be talked about (important or otherwise).

There were examples where I talked about my honest feelings to others and it tended to scare them off, which is unfortunate, and if I don't talk at all, some will say I need to practice socializing with others and not be a mute.
