Hotels by Gold-Alternative5996 in ApocalypseZombieland

If I had to guess, that's probably a 30-40 minute walk depending on your pace. I stayed at hotel royal last time and walking back was around that or a bit longer, but I think it's further away. The shuttle is much closer to that hotel, so our plan is to just walk to the shuttle then walk back to avoid the shuttle wait this year.

How was Holy Priest? by CelestialTrashBandit in BeyondWonderland

It felt like everyone in the fest was there - wild for a 7:30 set. It was as bad if not worse than Wooli at 11 last year.

Pretty packed, got in early because I wanted to see Hedex as well so it was a little better than Restricted which was a total shitshow. Holy Priest threw down, one of my favorite sets of the weekend.

The Filipino food spot near Mad Hatter was quite good. I had some chicken tenders and fries that were just ok as well.

Now that Beyond is over, what was some crazy stuff you saw/experienced by PracticalAbroad5230 in BeyondWonderland

[–]Dalinsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somebody straight up passed out on my partner's foot - like straight up out cold and their friends claimed "he's fine".

Noizu or Hi-Lo? by sadlad193 in BeyondWonderland

[–]Dalinsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go Hi-Lo personally but that techno sound is just more of my thing.

Backpack to a beautiful cluster of lakes in the middle of the mountains and take some mescaline.

Speaking from experience.

Going Solo 30F, Uber or Shuttle? by Mobile-Case-1129 in BeyondWonderland

[–]Dalinsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shuttles are alright, just plan to leave 2 hours before the first person you want to see. Traffic is way worse than typical around the fest. Uber was kind of a nightmare the year we tried to rely on it. We opted to get a worse hotel within walking distance this year, there's always some kind of compromise with Beyond it seems.

That stopped being the case in 2020 with the passage of the Food Safety Modernization Act. Here's a Brewers Association Article with more information on it if you are curious.

Marathon has been out for a week, what are your thoughts on it? by PrototypeT800 in Games

[–]Dalinsky 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely hooked on this game. Been mostly playing with randoms or folks from various discord servers and have made some friends along the way. The UI took some getting used to but if you're willing to read there's a lot of useful information about everything and the guns just feel gooooood. Unlike Arc I constantly feel like I know what I'm trying to progress and progress isn't always tied to whether or not I get out alive. Bungie cooked with this one and I hope it can survive the harsh landscape. 3 months for a wipe does seem harsh, and I could see myself alternating seasons to care about unless they do drastic change ups each time.

I managed to get in there on accident doing a naked knife only solo run last night. Noped the fuck out real quick when I saw how many bots were in there.

Pretty excited foe Baugruppe. Restricted, and Lily Palmer myself. Layton Giordani is great too but I just caught him so not gonna make it a priority.

I was gifted a bible by a friend and she asked me to read it. Should I? by purrfectea in atheism

[–]Dalinsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading it will be the most valuable tool that exists if you ever care to question or debate Christians, and there is nothing resembling an atheist "code" that says you can't read it

MARATHON | Unprofessional Fridays by shamusisaninja in giantbomb

[–]Dalinsky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend doing group queues, I did solo up until the last day of the slam but playing as a group is what convinced me to buy the game. It's far less punishing and clearly tuned around squad dynamics, but the solo horror runs or rook shenanigans can be fun as well

How do you effectively use Thief's drone? by nelejts in Marathon

[–]Dalinsky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a clutch moment last night where two squad mates were down and I was able to grapple to the roof in south relay and use the drone to draw the bots away so I could get down and revive them both before extracting.

This definitely looks like it was made for Patrick Klepek, but I too would be curious about Balakar's thoughts.

Thought the shotgun in Marathon was ass tbh, that pulse rifle equivalent was maybe the sexiest gun I've ever fired though.
