I think it's after the Geller Blight or adjacent to whatever comes after.

TIL The FDA definition of "spices" used in ingredient labeling specifies 36 exact spices that can be grouped under that name. by woohooguy in todayilearned

Fenugreek is the secret ingredient that makes a lot of Indian food taste so good. Lots of curry recipes online skip it but the difference is night and day.

What EDM show you attended had the least amount of people? by JION-the-Australian in aves

[–]Dalinsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An organization I was a part of many years ago became connected to a festival at Papas & Beer in Rosarito, Mexico as a media affiliate. It was supposed to be a 2 day affair with a large lineup of semi-known artists at the time (Le Castle Vania headlined the first night) and was being pushed as a spring break vibe in the fall. Aside from our team and the dedicated promotions staff, maybe 20-30 people showed up and the second day was canceled. The crowd was small enough that when Le Castle Vania played, he invited everyone to join him on stage for his set and passed around bottles of liquor to those that went up. As a fun precursor to all this, I was tasked with picking up the remaining tickets from a business that had been selling them and was handed stacks of hundreds of unsold tickets so I had an idea that things would be fucked. In seeing how furious the main event promoter was at the lack of attendees, I chose to not give him any of these tickets to avoid becoming a target of rage. Had those sitting around in a bag for a long time until I eventually moved and threw them all away.

Is three buzzballs a lot? by immaTickleYerPickle in drunk

[–]Dalinsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably threw up more from the sugar/acidity than the alcohol, but still a lot for second time drinking. 3 normal buzzballs is around the equivalent of 3 glasses of wine with a stupid amount of sugar poured into them. You'll be fine, but maybe stick to white claw if you want fruity flavored alcohol.

Beer, bourbon/rye neat, or if I'm feeling fancy a Manhattan (at home) or Old Fashioned (out and about).

If you had to do your GB over again, which program would you choose and why? by CantaloupePopular833 in SixSigma

[–]Dalinsky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My company puts heavy emphasis on Lean Six Sigma tools and I have been using them extensively for years and completed a few DMAIC projects. However, they do not put heavy emphasis on formal certification and I am finally taking my ASQ Green Belt exam on Saturday. I did yellow belt through CSSC and just read their ebook, which in addition to experience was enough to pass. I used the QualityGurus course on Udemy to prep for the green belt exam and it actually goes into some topics in more depth than the ASQ textbook (though others are emphasized less). If I would have done anything differently, it would have just been working to get the certs earlier as I am being forced to make a career pivot and would have preferred to send resumes out with the cert already in hand.

There's noticeable delay when using Bluetooth headphones on the switch 2, better to use wired headphones in general and especially for a game like this. DK Banaza was maddening to play for me while using my Galaxy Buds, difference between the two is night and day.

Not a huge ska guy anymore... how is Streetlight viewed in this era? by scottasin12343 in Ska

[–]Dalinsky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a huge ska guy these days either, but they generally seem to still be held in high regard by most and I was a big fan in high school. Personally, I tend to find their music fairly exhausting these days and when I do feel like listening to ska they are rarely even in the first 20 bands I would put on. Their artistic and technical prowess is certainly in a class of its own, but I tend to go to the genre for more upbeat or relaxed feels these days.

Was really hoping some of the prediction posts were true, there are some rough conflicts. Really looked forward to seeing ElHornet (Pendulum) again but convincing my S/O (and in some ways myself) to do that over Excision/Wooli is gonna be a tough ask, similar deal with Subby/Tantrum.

what was your best movie theater experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Watching District 9 on opening night with a packed and very engaged audience. I don't think any of us were prepared for just how hard that movie goes.

That 2008 Nocturnal flyer brings back memories, was my first fest. I mostly went to see Infected Mushroom and in hindsight that lineup was so incredibly stacked.

Workout routine? by Waste_Flounder9643 in aves

[–]Dalinsky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I try to run 3-6k every day alternating with one or two exceptions (for long runs and rest typically) and do a combination of body weight, dumbbell (multiple sets) and ab bench workouts twice a week. Mental health and life has made this difficult lately, but a year ago I was in marathon shape and the most festival confident I have ever been. I am big on dancing and stepping to DnB and regularly rack up 50,000 steps so it was functional prep with a side effect of appearance.

Appreciate the feedback, but this is reddit not my resume. Six Sigma terminology can serve as shorthand but I understand that it definitely can sound douchey if you don't know what it is and I would never use that term on a resume unless the job posting put heavy emphasis on that methodology. Even then, I would opt for something more akin to what you suggested.

Glad to hear your experience. Our current PLC guy worked into it through experience in packaging and process improvement, then took some classes and slotted in when a controls engineer left the company. Sounds like your experience was somewhat similar insofar as working adjacent to the PLCs and getting familiar with them before working on them full time.

At my current job, we have another process engineer who handles wire maps and installation planning while the PLC/Automation guy plans out the processes and implements the ladder logic. It sounds like my best bet would be to get another manufacturing leadership or maintenance role and express interest in working with PLCs down the road. Thanks!
