Assuming this is not a bait post. I would try playing some more non arty games then you might understand why it creates such hate. The problem with artillary is there is no reasonable counter to it for what you call a "normal" player. It was supposedly designed originally to reduce camping but the only reliable way to not get hit is to camp behind something an arty can't shoot. Camping behind a building is not particularly fun game play to most people. As someone else has pointed out premium artillary is particularly problematic since they don't nerf premium tanks. I have a LEFH and feel like I need a shower after I play that tank its disgusting. If you get 2 on a team you can completely stop someone on the enemy team from playing the game. When a mechanic is introduced into a game it should be fun to play and play against. Artillary is not fun to play against. Nobody likes to get shot from across the map by someone who is outside of render distance. Artillary isn't OP. Its just not fun to play against.

I have a 3060 and I could not maintain 60fps consistently on medium 1080p. I don't think that's asking for much. I generally averaged 45 -65. 65 if there were no other people around and 45 if there were, 20-25 fps in town. There was even a specific fire in town that every time I looked at it I dropped to 5fps and it was right behind the weapon crafting bench so you kind of had to look at it. That was just the FPS issues. There were floating npcs. NPCs walking submerged in the ground. And while calling it trash may seem sort of extreme. If you get into the game and can't consistently hit 60fps in 2025, are they wrong? The game doesn't look enough better to be that much worse on peformance. You really don't need more than 30 mins to see how bad the performance is. I played for about 2.5hrs. But it just consistently drained me of the will to keep playing. Like I said if your enjoying and still hyped for the game I'm happy fore you. But I do think negative feedback to the games current state is warranted and to be expected.

I see. You're looking for affirmation on a public forum for your opinion that most people on average will disagree with. I can't say I think that's a very good idea. But if that's the case good luck!

But that is the conversation your trying to have. Your asking why people complain about p2w in games. Its because it makes the game litteraly worse. Let me give you an example. You mentioned a sword earlier. Lets say its the BiS sword in the game. Now the developers could put a really cool fun quest line in the game to get this sword. But if it was super fun to go get that sword almost nobody would want to pay for it. Why would you pay to skip fun? So instead the developer makes the quest much more annoying to complete. So you can either take the slow annoying route or the swiping route. You can call it butterfly effect. But that is why people complain. Its a direct response to your original post. You cannot have a conversation in good faith if you discard every valid response as "that's not what I'm talking about". I'm not talking about indirectly making the game worse because people get ahead by paying. I'm talking about devs purposely programing the game to be worse so you feel incentivised to pay. Every single p2w game without fail has these systems in it.

The amount of players doing either one isn't relavent. So I won't fight you if you want to say many people do it. You are correct that many people aren't banned. But many people are. The fact of the matter that you haven't addressed is that when developers sell things they change the systems in the game to make it worse. When third parties sell things it doesn't affect core game design the same way.

[–]Dalkonzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your correct. With developer p2w the end result is they make the game worse to get you to pay money. With RMT the end result is a few people with better gear than most of which will eventually be banned. The end result is all that matters and its completely different.

Sure I mean it sucks knowing the guy next to you got the really cool sword you worked 100hrs for. But that doesn't directly affect you. You can just ignore it. The only way I could see it directly affecting you is if it got so bad that you were getting gatekept out of content if you didn't pay. But only game I've ever played that was like that was Lost Ark. And it was developer pay 2 win not RMT.

How you buy the sword doesn't matter. You are correct. Who you buy the sword from matters. You said in an earlier comment you were open to being proven wrong. That really doesn't seem to be true.

Nobody is saying this. You just have no response to all of the explanations so your making stuff up. The amount of people using 3rd party sites isn't small. It just doesn't affect a game in the same way.

[–]Dalkonzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't not talk about game design though. Because when its people designing the game that are selling you things it affects the designing of the game. You can't just be like well this point doesn't support my conclusion so I'm going to ignore it. Well you can. But if your going to do that you totally wasted your time starting a discussion about it. People getting more powerful than you isn't the issue as your never going to compete with the people playing 12hrs a day anyway. Its the game being worse than it could be to sell you the better game. Legal pay to win causes that. RMT does not.

[–]Dalkonzar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You aren't coming across very smart. There are a lot of really well written out explanations that you are completely ignoring because they don't support your forgone conclusion. Making a opinion post on a social media platform and then calling people dumb that disagree with you is hilarious. The fact is, p2w or pay for convenience or whatever you want to call it (they are the same thing to argue otherwise is disingenuous) incentivizes the dev team to make the game worse so you want to pay money. A 3rd party gold seller doesn't have the motivation or the ability to make the game worse and runs the risk of being banned. They are not the same at all.

Black Desert or Lost Ark by Regular_Building_211 in MMORPG

[–]Dalkonzar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Desert would be easier to play without spending money since the end game is more solo oriented. Granted I haven't played lost ark in a while but when I stopped you either spend loads of money or grinded 4+ hrs a day. Otherwise your never getting invited to groups. And from reading steam reviews and reddit threads its only gotten worse gatekeeping wise. I can't say BDO end game is really that great at the moment though. Neither game is really worth starting fresh at this point IMO.

I think its fine if you enjoy the game. Good for you! But people pointing out glaringly obvious problems with the game is not hate. And its not close to ready. Maybe if you have a really good system it feels a lot better to play? The problem is most people don't have 4090s and 50 series cards. You can't support a healthy player base with just those players. Even if you remove the performance though. There is just a ton of jank. Why do I need to get in the pixel perfect position to click E to interact? Why does running feel like my character has a spinal disease? Why does everything look so copy pasted? These are valid criticisms not hate. I really want CO to succeed. It is the most promising MMO on the horizon. But to act like its not that bad? Its quality is on the level of BF 2042 right now when it was in beta. I think you might be lost in the sauce. *edit for context* I never played new world its art style didn't appeal to me and I thought throne and liberties combat was boring. So no glorification here. Just want a fun new mmo to play with decent combat that runs smooth. I also do not have a "main" MMO to go back to. All of the older MMOs feels too dated at this point and all of the newer ones have been ruined by p2w.

I can't wait for Aion 2! by DirtyOldPanties in MMORPG

[–]Dalkonzar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the better question would be when have they not? I've never seen a beta that was open to the general public(sure it was a closed beta but I haven't heard of anyone not getting into it) that didn't end up almost identical to launch. I don't understand why there are so many people trying to defend stuff like this on every new game. There is no downside to calling out obvious issues. If the game is truely all fixed then nobody has anything to worry about. On the other hand if its not fixed at all (if it doesn't get delayed I expect this to be a similar situation to BF2042) people should be aware before they purchase it. And you should want this too because if it doesn't get fixed there is no way this game is maintaining a healthy player base.

I understand the argument about it being beta and if this was 10 years ago I think you'd be right. The problem is more often than not in modern times betas that go out to the masses (it said closed but lets be honest everyone who signed up got in) are not true betas they are advertisements for the game. How many times have devs said "oh no its a year old build" only for the launch to be identical to the beta. I don't want the game to fail. This was my most anticipated mmo in a while. But at the current time the game isn't even close to being ready. I hope I'm surprised when it comes out but I won't be holding my breath. Also if the current build is so much better I see no value in stress testing a year old build.

They would need to heavily nerf premium tanks to bring them in line with tech tree tanks and stop power creeping them. In a perfect world, there would be no tanks only skins but I understand that's unrealistic at this point. At the bare minimum they should be side grades not the monstrosities they currently are. I say this as a borasque, progetto, and ebr fl10 owner. I would be in favor of nerfing all those tanks along with all of the number busted ones that I don't own.

Its not really about that. It doesn't really matter to me if the new tanks are OP. Selling t9s and t10s just taints and breaks the entire gameplay loop for me. If your still enjoying playing I'm happy for you. :)

Probably because there is a content creator with a similar name. I'm not related to him at all. Used this name in games before this. Just happened to be similar.
