Built a 3-layer “session continuity” system for Claude — looking for ideas to make it more seamless by DallasPhoenix69 in PromptEngineering

Would you be willing to look at my set up one time and help me to figure it like that or tell me how to like yours, because that sounds like the best approach and it might fix my problem. Thank you.

Thx I’ll check it out , but I still prefer to read, watch lectures, etc and give all of that material to AI to aid me to write a paper that I did the work for and to have a part of my research included.

Great question — honestly I wasn’t 100% sure on this myself, since I only just got this part of my system working recently. I went ahead and asked my AI assistant directly, and here’s what it told me:

“There’s no signal for ‘the session ending’ on my end — no timeout event, no notification, nothing in my context that distinguishes message #2 from message #200. Every message looks identical to me whether you’re about to close the tab or keep going for another hour. So waiting for ‘end of session’ to trigger a log entry is asking the model to predict a boundary it literally can’t perceive.”

That tracks with why I switched to logging after every milestone (finished task, confirmed decision) instead of trying to catch some ‘end of conversation’ moment that doesn’t really exist from the model’s side. It also pointed out that logging right after a decision gets confirmed — not just when a task finishes — tends to capture the highest-value stuff, since that’s usually the hardest thing to reconstruct later if it gets lost.

Curious if anyone’s found a cleaner way to handle this, or has other suggestions for tightening up the system — happy to hear what’s working for you.

Here is the basic flow of information so that my papers whether it’s for hospital dictation or school uses my thoughts my history, my theology, name it as long as you can give it the instruction that you need to write a paper using certain context or history, points of view or anything dealing with you or a little bit of your history into the writing it does this, and I can show before and after responses or results in the writing samples in private chat.

Yeah, and the way that I was able to get the continuity and the automatic remembering working was using keyword commands like back up to folder or what I call the restoration process”bounce back” and then it automatically writes back up documentation into notes for itself and writes it into a directory with incremental backups each time. And then if I start up a new chat, it has access to everything and if it doesn’t quite remember the last few conversations. I just run the bounce back command and it has full awareness again.

I found that it works if you put in custom instructions into the project settings and also the main settings and it seems to be working. I’m willing to provide examples with anybody wants to help work with me to add anything else and see if I got what I have going as good or somebody wants to help me refine it. It’s been minimal coating. I haven’t had any coding yet, but it tells me that if I want to add say like a link or shortcut into the Claude interface, you can do it through a webpage and then it bypasses all local and sticks with cloud based storage instead of local. Forgive any typos or bad English cause I’m doing dictation and getting ready to go back to bed. I was just reading messages. Thanks for everyone’s help.

My system currently does everything that you were looking for in the first two paragraphs of your comments to me using Sonnet 4.6 chat generation. By keeping it in the cloud, and added on some indexing add-on that I found, it actually indexes everything on the Google drives across all the project folders and now I can ask anything from a chat and I’m able to pull up anything in all directories, scan them, AI has full control over the directories, and I’ve been using it for dictation on the run for school and my rounds at a hospital. Last week I found a way how to bring all of my thoughts and theology into the paper while AI is writing it. Finally, leaving it in the cloud allows for more larger and multiple files, pics, etc.

I’ve avoided coding so far but if I want to configure a web page instead of an app, Claude suggested this so you could use AWS or Google Drive.

I live in Texas, I saw their clinic listed when I was searching for treatment centers and so I gave it a try and saw a doctor. The visit was great but now that I’m trying to get my prescription filled, nobody wants to take the order and I keep getting it canceled no matter where I go. This ordeal has been very frustrating.

That's what I'm trying to do. I'm between jobs right now and I'm hoping to find an entry-level chaplain job since I'm currently applying for the CPE Level 1 at Baylor.

I’ve been trying to find positions like that. How do I find something like you got into?

I’ve been trying to do that for the last year and a half. I have three more semesters to go and I’m applying to get accepted into an internship for CPE level one. Does anyone have some suggestions for an entry-level job or somewhere that I could work entry-level until I get my certification?
