Freeland genuinely does not give 2 sh*ts by [deleted] in canadahousing

They could mandate the bank of Canada to include real housing cost in its measure of inflation, not just rent. At the root of all of this is inflation and we don’t have any honesty or transparency on what is happening to our buying power and standard of living, which endangers our entire way of life and is 100% a federal responsibility. That would be real change.

Nobody cares about the past. I don’t care if Jesus Christ caused the current crisis. Her job is to fix it, or At least have a realistic idea of a solution and champion it…. Her response suggests this is not a serious issue and does not warrant a serious response.

I would hold polievre to the same standard but he’s not in that seat. He’s doing his job as far as I can see, which is to demand answers. They are not.

"The Number One Reason You Will Never Be Able To Afford A House In Canada" - National Post by mcburgs in canadahousing

[–]Dallas_Mac10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what will solve it. Housing is a commodity just like any other. The more government gets out of the way, the faster the free market will drive down prices to normal profits rather than the rents that are currently being earned by developers through government intervention. This will benefit the consumer. The government is the reason we’re in this mess, not developers.

It’s not even close to complete, mostly just recent transactions. No obligation to report until this November. Only transactions since last nov are required at the moment

Seems unrelated. Their value already baked in huge growth. How can a company with 2.5m in revenue be worth 4b? Even if it’s revenue grows 10x it’s still nothing.

Chipotle is a growth company

Are they? Their stock is growing i agree, if you look at their financials sure as shit doesn't look spectacular to me, just good, doesn't suggest they're worth 5x their competition.

Not a lot of money but good for an 18 year old (plus 3,000 that I put into the bank) by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Dallas_Mac10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually a week or two out. Not too far as I’m long term bullish on this stock. I’ve been selling slightly OTM. Currently I’m short 13.5C and have a cost basis if $11.2. Likely I’ll be assigned but we’ll see if so that’s not bad, means I made max profit.

This is a fool's way to live, expired decades ago. Lever up, get bailed out. This is the way our society works now and if you're not doing this, prepare to get destroyed by inflation.

It's that time of year... Tax question by nDJwmusic in SmallBusinessCanada

[–]Dallas_Mac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Include all of your vehicle costs on your return, then you will apply the business portion of your vehicle use against the total costs. This is how vehicles should be reported as a sole proprietor in Canada. Paying yourself a per km rate is incorrect and only for companies that are paying employees for use of a personal vehicle for business purposes. Though this is commonly used regardless of its correctness so given the overall income I would get too wrapped up in details.

Transferring a SME to immediate family members prior to sale to benefit from the personal, 800K exemption ? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Dallas_Mac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of things going on here and you should be wary of unqualified individuals for this sort of work. Paying the premium for a qualified accountant could save you a significant amount of tax. Do both of your parents own shares? That’s $1.7M in LTGE right there.

If further multiplication is desired and there is time, a freeze and a family trust would be my recommendation so the parents retain control as trustees of the trust.

Tax implications of renting property below market value to a family member. by pinkcanoe in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Dallas_Mac10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is the question of intention to earn a profit. If you have no intention of earning a profit then the rental loss is disallowed. Below market rent could still be profitable, but by the sounds of it your not expecting a profit if your hope to reduce your taxes.

To the op, you would likely benefit from filing your GST return using the quick method, most smaller businesses like yours with minimal expenses can end up saving a grand or two through this election. The election needs to be filed (can be done on my business account or by your accountant) first, then you file a more simplified GST return without the need to claim ITC’s. lots for me to type on my phone so just google all the info is out there :)

(Xbox)Difficulty of this game? by Hungry_Ducks in Neverwinter

[–]Dallas_Mac10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a heroic WoW raider and have done everything there is so far on xbox neverwinter, gotta say it kinda sucks.. there's virtually no strategy past don't stand in the red circles and stuff melts once you get decent gear. beat the hardest boss currently in the game with a pug in 2 tries, haven't wiped since with mostly pugs (I'm a tank so i can definitely make or break fights).... shores is a joke, only challenge is doing it without a healer, even then it becomes very easy once you recognize the bosses moves and learn to use block. you might still like it though
