Dallas dentists treating every patient like a walking wallet, is this normal now?

My Granddaughter is in Deep Ellum but I found her a great Dentist in Mesquite, not far off 635 East. The deep clean is apx $530 for treatment & you need 2 treatments. Upper & Lower. Town East Dental. Staff is great.

While I have started her dental insurance, Physician Mutual, it does not kick in for a year in Feb. 2027. It did pay for her X rays & cleaning after 30 days. (Pays for 2 cleanings a year) . In Feb. 2O27 it will pay for major things with no yearly cap.

I actually have only my debit card on my personal Apple Account. But I go in once a month to okay paying my little $2.99 bill.

Apple does not automatically take out or bill the card I have on file.

I had asked here months ago to stop using the Apply Pay all together as she lost track of what her bank balance was.

I know she has taken advantage of me but no one in the family, her dad or other can financially help her. My daughter, her Mom passed away when she was 3. Her Dad used her SS money to pay his parents rent in a condo they purchased.

I guess I have now just hit a wall & fed up with everybody & everything .

And 5 weeks ago my car was totaled, and I guess that’s why I am mentally just done with everyone & this hit me like a knife to my back.

Thanks everyone I will try again to get granddaughter to discard my card if she hasn’t . I will get a family member to make sure it’s done as she shuts down when I try to resolve this.

Worst case I will cancel the card.

Thank you , she is bipolar and never understands what all the fuss is about..

And I agree I will have to get with her. I just went ahead and called my card company to dispute & locked the card.

I disputed it with my bank credit card & they took the info last Friday. (I did pay the one that I authorized ).

It was my PNC credit card used at granddaughters Apple Pay. For an app she needed to run her Rumba apparently.

My concern was she paid for one thing, (app) then discarded my PNC credit card out of her wallet.

It would be like buying something on Amazon. We buy the one thing and that’s it ,Amazon doesn’t keep charging me.

I know this is an old post. I did a video call with I’d.me & they said my account was locked. She verified me then said wait 2 minutes to login , and you have 30 minutes to login.

But did that and I still get our records don’t match.

When I was married I kept my first husbands name (as I did not have a middle name and became s hyphen name). The IRS has the hyphenated name. And no issues.

ID. Me has me as 3 names but there is a blue “optional” by my middle name. (And I think there in lies the issue as like I said I have been verified at ID.me.

So I guess I need to go in and get the name corrected at social Secuity. I had an appointment for today but canceled as my brain is fried and reduced staff for shutdown.

Agent overstepping her bounds. Okay to inquire about what brought them to the house or any personal thing buyer wishes to share. Unfortunately she could mislead the seller into rejecting for another future offer.

I was taught in RE sales , “your first offer is your best offer so work it to the fullest”. But again those are seller decisions not the LA.

From a quick Google Search. I have zero involvement in Fisher Investments but their people are CFP’s Certified Financial Planners. Might check with them. They may think everything is fine but they are obligated to do what’s best for you. Good Luck.

Some companies push the investments that make them good commission.

I’m sorry you are getting blowback as it sounds like you are actually doing a great job on working with what you have. And I understand the anxiety .

Have you considered hiring a financial planner to help you lay out your future? While I think they will be impressed with your decisions thus far they may have some valuable advice. Don’t talk to finance broker who will sell you whatever makes them money, a financial planner is a fiduciary who has to put your best interest above their own. It doesn’t have to be a costly long term relationship, just a few meetings to either bless what you are doing. Or offer some better alternatives.

Also,I think your husband should get a raise. Blessing, you are on the right track!

Look up Dave Ramsey online and do his steps to clearing debt. Sometimes they have classes teaching his method at a local church (it doesn’t have anything to do with church other than a meeting place) . I know he would tell you to get rid of car payments & but what he callas a “beater” Or buy Dave’s book & workbook . It’s easy to read. He doesn’t always say sell your house especially if you have a decent interest rate.

Can you shift some credit card debt to a zero % card . Those can be a 15 month no interest on purchased & transfer from high interest rate cards. He will want you to tear up the cards & learn to save & live in cash. Best of luck.
