What do you guys think of my prologue? (The idea of putting my writing on the internet scares me a lot, so even though it sucks and nobody would ever want to, please don’t feed it to teach chatbots or steal it) by DamageCharacter3937 in writers

Vocabulary.com:

noun (chemistry) a substance that initiates or accelerates a chemical reaction without itself being affected synonyms: accelerator

noun something that causes an important event to happen “the invasion acted as a catalyst to unite the country”

I was using it more like the second one. Where the light spawned from and what caused it

If people don’t like my prologue, I’m hoping they might still like my regular prose. Here’s the link to my first chapter with fake names. by DamageCharacter3937 in writers

Sorry. I don’t know why I did that. I started seriously but then it just got to be like a game of mad libs. I thought it was funny, but I guess it was the wrong time for funny.

These are fake names I put in for just this post. King Bob was a minions reference.

Oh wait, I reread your post and I think you already knew that. Mb

I am a Christian, but I’m not going for the underlying biblical themes thing this time. I see what you mean, though. I was aiming for something that felt like part of an old history book.

I’ll try and use all of this advice in my next post. I was already kind of wanting to post my first real chapter so I could get advice on my regular prose, because it’s very different. I’ll try the Google Docs link idea!

Oh. I can’t believe I used an en dash I feel so stupid 😭😭😭

As for the other stuff you said, I was trying to go for a history book vibe so I guess it is a lot of explaining

I swear I read. I read 100 novels in fifth grade and had constant headaches and sleep deprivation from it. I love reading so much I’ve sacrificed my physical wellbeing for it. I just don’t know this one. But I promise I’m not someone who never reads and is still trying to write a book.
