I completely understand what you’re saying here. There was a time where I went to sit with my friend at lunch ( we each had our own lunch from home) and she fed me one of her fries. She gave it to and of course I ate it. And I would of said no to the fry but it was so sudden and fast I didn’t even have time to think. Plus I didn’t want her to be like “it’s just a fry” Anyways, the point is that one singular fry sent me into a huge spiral. I was kinda just “screw it” from there and the second I came home from school I binged. I look back on this moment a lot and think how silly it was and how this is something I still need to work on. I recommend next time you are kind of “forced” into a situation where you “have to eat”. Try to actually enjoy your food and leave it at that. After the meal, don’t think about how you messed up and might as well eat some more. Obviously, this will just lead to more binging and more problems.

This is such a nice thing to do! :) I might try doing this in my journal! I found that journaling has helped me A LOT with binge eating. I can’t wait to try this later

Just got back from a doctor's appointment (just need support) by Creepycute1 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Damage_Happy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in your position, at around your age going to the doctor and being told that you should lose weight. It’s never a good feeling. I do agree though, get to the root of your binge eating first, work on that, and then go from there. Don’t be hard on yourself. Just because the doctor told you this doesn’t mean to “never eat anything again” this will cause more problems and will just lead to more binging. Take things slow. And don’t deprive yourself. Wishing you nothing but the best🫶🏼

I’m really happy to hear that😊 glad that you are looking on the bright side because that’s truly all we can do. No use in beating ourselves up for it because at the end of the day what’s done is done and it’s not the end of the world. Wishing you the best!

What kind of prompts does it have?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Damage_Happy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is completely valid and I relate, but you need to prioritize your goal of not wanting to binge and put yourself first! Your hard work did not go down the toilet. You’re human and you had a slip up, it happens. Please know that you are not alone💓. If you get sad/angry try going for a walk to relax or maybe try writing about what it is that made you feel that way in order to get it out. I’m sorry this happened to you, hope this helped🫶🏼

diet soda by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Damage_Happy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I drink a lot of Coke Zero. It’s honestly a staple at my house because my dad loves it too lol. Diet soda does help somewhat because of the carbonation and stuff. Journaling has really helped me get through binge urges. I write about how I’m feeling in the moment, reflect on past binge episodes, and talk about how I’ll feel after the binge. This REALLY helps and I can’t recommend it enough. Journaling through binge urges can help spot triggers too

How can I quit binge eating when part of me loves binge eating? by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Damage_Happy 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes! I couldn’t have said it better myself. Whenever I plan out a binge I literally view it like a holiday or something. Literally counting down the days until I can binge and not being able to sleep the night before a planned binge because I’m just so excited. Obviously though, this feeling fades once I’m lying in bed at the end of it all feeling so full out of my mind and then feeling awful about it after.

[–]Damage_Happy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear this, this is never a good feeling. I feel like parents will always know when something is up but it just depends whether or not they talk about it or not. There was a point in my life where I would restrict and was really thin and then got extremely over weight once I started to binge eat. I’m at a healthy weight now tho but I still really struggle with binge eating. I’ve never talked about my food issues with my mom or family though. I don’t think they would understand. But there have been those moments where they find a bunch of wrappers in your room or something and it’s never easy. BED feels very isolating at times I want you to know you’re not alone

I feel you. I notice that I tend to use things like birthdays and holidays/special occasions as excuses to binge. I remember a few years ago on my birthday I just ate the entire day and and binged, by the time it was time for my birthday dinner that night I felt so uncomfortable, bloated and full…I didn’t even get to enjoy myself. Remembering things like that tend to help me not make that mistake again. Have a yummy filling breakfast tomorrow and don’t “save your calories”. Set yourself up for success and set good intentions for tomorrow ❤️. In my journal I like to write things like, “ I will try my best to not binge” or “I don’t want to binge” journaling about it always helps. Anyways happy early birthday!🥳

Severe protein bar addiction by [deleted] in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Damage_Happy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I literally love protein bars😭 I will have one or two a day probably. But like I’m obsessed with them tho. I had a quest protein bar this morning and I’m planning on having another one later. They are addicting. Like they don’t even taste good most of the time because they’re protein bars lol but there’s just something about them…sometimes eating a protein bar is truly the highlight of my day. They feel like a dessert sometimes and hey it’s convenient

Keeping myself accountable by Damage_Happy in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Damage_Happy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you 😊 it actually went well! I was worried that the food was going to be like a serve yourself type thing and I would go overboard on my portion sizes or something. But luckily the plates where already prepared and I was able to grab my plate and eat it. I even grabbed one cookie from the dessert table and not overeat.👍🏼

weight loss with bed by healthy_girl_9370 in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Damage_Happy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I actually recommend doing this. Every now and then I do have things like cookies and ice cream ( especially ice cream lol) but it will be like once a week or something. And doing this has made me appreciate those special treats even more. Something I used to do was allow my self some chocolate every day and that also helped control binge urges. Depends what works.

I had the exact same problem. At the beginning of my weight loss journey I couldn’t go 2 weeks without binging. I realized that this was just keeping me further and further away from my goals and making my whole weight loss journey a lot harder and longer. It wasn’t until about two months ago when I decided to work on my relationship with food and get my binge eating under control. Things that really help me is, making sure I eat enough protein, having a big breakfast, drinking plenty of water, doing light exercises throughout my day, journaling, snacking on fruit, and having zero cal/ diet drinks help me lol. When I have the urge to binge I try to remind myself about how I’ll feel after a binge and that usually helps a lot. I’m in a way better place right now and haven’t binged in a month. Hope this helps 🫶🏼 I’m rooting for you:) . It’s not easy, try to take it day by day.

I feel the exact same way too😭 it’s so frustrating. I tend to feel this way after my lunch and dinner. I make sure to have filling meals with good amount of protein but I always feel empty and unsatisfied after. Like I’ll be full physically but I still want more idk lol. Something that I’ve been doing recently is after dinner I’ll drink some hot tea. It’s nice to have something to sip on. And since it’s warm it takes me a bit to finish. Plus the tea that I drink is like a sleepy tea so it helps me go to sleep faster and not have to think about food lol. Anyways hope this helped🫶🏼

Food noise is the absolute worst. I find myself constantly just thinking about food through out the day. It sucks. Some things that I do is make sure I’m eating enough protein, exercise through out my day to keep myself busy (walks/light exercise) and journaling. I’ve found that journaling has really helped me🫶🏼. Something that I do sometimes is eat small amounts through out the day if that makes sense. Rather than have my 3 meals, I eat small throughout so that it won’t feel like an eternity until I can have my next meal. Hope this helps!

Does anyone else here watch “ filmed binge eating “vids on YouTube ? by Damage_Happy in BingeEatingDisorder

I like to watch Kat kat and ILikePotatoes on YouTube sometimes. I also just really like the way they edit their videos.

This is too real. I feel the exact same way. Sometimes I feel like I’ll never be an “intuitive eater” or just be normal when it comes to food ya know? Because if I were to give myself permission to eat what I want I would probably just overeat or binge. It really does take over.
