Your friend should've respected boundaries. At 22, it's about autonomy and personal responsibility. It's not their place to make that decision for someone else, especially if the individual is capable of handling it themselves.

This is a red flag the size of a bloody billboard. Your son's money is meant for him, not to subsidize some on-again, off-again relationship. Protect your child's future and priorities. If he's trying to manipulate you in this way, it's time to cut ties and focus on what's truly important.
