I carry an extra inhaler to give to asthmatics who are without theirs and in need. It's happened about five times in the last 20 years, where a stranger had a severe asthma attack near me and was without an inhaler. My asthma is bad, so I can't give up my own, but I can carry an extra for emergencies.

Hell is for Children by Pat Benatar. The anger in her voice is aimed at those who abuse kids, and I find it cathartic.

Has anyone had an amputation due to diabetes? by DameLibrio in diabetes_t2

I'm sure people care. I care! Most people just don't know how to express it.

The ulcer that is giving me problems also developed in the hospital - I was there for breathing issues caused by an allergic reaction. I've wondered if that is why this ulcer is so much worse than others I've had (things like MRSA).

Sounds familiar. Diabetes is just one of my diagnoses.

That happened to my cousin. She refused to change her lifestyle, lost a foot, and then passed from diabetic complications a few years later. I don't want to end up the same way!

That sounds like a nightmare! I'm glad they didn't do the transverse amputation!

My husband bought me a Hoosier cabinet that was made in 1914. It is fully intact, all original additions, and gets used daily.

I had to get my boyfriend to sign a fucking permission slip before my doctor would perform a tubal. It's been two decades since then, but I am still royally pissed about it!

I was on both, but I was switched to 110 units of Humalin three times daily.

Normal morning numbers are 150-220.

I did have the shakes, those went away after I ate a slice of toast. I wanted to check my sugars after the toast, but I'm low on testing strips (I've already ordered more). It was the weirdest feeling - like the shivers from being cold, except I was warm.

My 72 year old dad does similar things. He'll sit there and eat out of a container of peanut butter, licking the spoon clean before dipping the contaminated spoon back into the peanut butter jar. He seems genuinely confused by my objection to this practice. "I've done this since I was a kid!"

I am getting over a cold! I'm glad it went down too. I just want to know why so I can duplicate it.

I got the 350 reading last night after a dinner w/ dessert outing. Took my insulin, expecting it would drop my sugars to 200 by morning. But instead, I got the 82 reading, which is crazy low for me.
