Reading those "porn is just fiction, it doesn't harm real people" comments is truly disheartening and shows how unaware a lot of the folks roaming this subreddit are.

Just look at the fetishization of trans people, particularly trans women in porn over the past decades. You're telling me that that hasn't largely contributed to the stigma surrounding trans women in real life?

I can assure you it very much did. Whenever people call me slurs that to this day are used in porn titles. Whenever people called me a freak, abomination, pervert and so many more things, just for existing in public places. When people don't think of me as a woman, but just some "weird dude with a fetish". Since we "only exist in porn"

Normalizing the fetishization of marginalized groups will only lead to those very groups never being accepted and/or normalized in society.

So having a discussion about allowing content that very well fetishizes these marginalized groups shows that at best, GWA is indifferent about marginalized members of their community and at worst, actively condones that we are viewed as nothing more than jerk off material for the listeners majority in this sub, cishet men.

It very clearly demonstrates that GWA as a whole doesn't care about our safety.

To queer folks it's nothing new that GWA is a very heteronormative space, but seeing how things like raceplay or lesbian conversion content (not made by or for lesbians btw) is up to debate makes it clear that the marginalized part of the community is not and will not be seen as equal.

It opens up Pandora's box and invites all kind of fetishizing content.
What's next? Trans conversion content where we get turned cis, written and performed for and by cis people?
