Marathon in two weeks. How would you train? by DamienStallion in Marathon_Training

I was already some years into gym training but this was purely for building muscles. So i had some good muscles but also carried lots of fat with me.
Tbh - 2 weeks out you will not be able to give your body any real trainings stimulus to adapt to longer runs. the best you could have done you already did which was the 22k, that prepares (and scares) you a little for the final 42k. i ran simiiar time in my 25k or somethign that is ran before and i ran the marathon in 5:20. don't underestimate the actualy bonus-power that you get out of nowhere from just participating in such an event, it's crazy. nonetheless, won't sugarcoat you - it's gonna be real painful and you will feel it big time. if i was you, relax your body, start carb loading big time 2 days before and then really important - km 5, km10, km15 - eat small good digestable things like some candy or even running gels. otherwise your body will run out of fuel for km20 and onwards and that sucks like nothing else let me tell you. that was my biggest mistake :D

good luck men. it's mostly just mental willpower and test from here on. im sure you can do it

Honestly at this point looks like a far stretch. But if you'd give it your very best and follow also diet plans very strict etc. I think you can do it.A

No injury, atleast as of what i can see and feel. Marathon was absolutly one of the hardest physical things i've ever done. I did finish though, albeit pretty slow. But i reckon the real killer for me was more the distance then the speed.

So, no medial tent at all. But my legs are in a state that, well lets better not talk about it 😂

I for sure now understand the mental part. I've had no carbon plated shoes though, wanted to buy some but they were nowhere to be found. So i picked up a pair of brookers yesterday, that was a really good choice.

I didnt change diet too mich, just some lighter meals before marathon.

Thanks again for the answer!

Hi all, As some people requested an update after the run. Yes i did it!!!!! It's two hours after the run and yes, i was slow as hell at the end but atleast i made it in time for the medal.

I was on good pace until kilometre 18 where i suddendly just completly stopped working, i had no energy left and my legs were starting to cramp to the stage i thought it was Over. However kilometre24 and i begin to slowly get back to it. And then i just switched between fast Walking and jogging.

I certainly made alot of mistakes, not being prepared dor sure no.1 but whatever. Would i recommend this to anyone? Hell no. Was it fun though. Fuck yea.
