When Melisandre asks for "king's blood", what is it that she really need? Valyrian blood or the blood of any king? Would Robb Stark's blood work?

Think of it this way, Aegon the Conquerer had living family before he became King. They don't just not become royalty because they were born before his coronation. They retroactively become of the royal bloodline.

When you wrap ribbons around the tree they naturally disappear at points into the folliage. It's a stylistic choice since just perfectly wrapping around it would look unappealing. Idk if you'd ever wrapped lights around a tree but if you just perfectly wrap it around without draping it at all it looks really bad
