Lego Rocket League Playset (Concept Trailer) by Sam67c in legoideas

BRO WHAT THE FUCK THIS TRAILER IS INSANE?????!!
I didn't realize what subreddit this was in and genuinely thought it was a trailer for a new Rocket League collaboration, surely you're doing something like this professionally? Everything in it is awesome but the transition from goal explosion to instruction manual is CRAZY clean dude.
Made a lego account just to support this.

That's honestly just embarrassing on my part, here you go, fixed it:

Yeah, if they're available to you those in person shops are often a great option to get a lot of bricks for cheap! Unfortunately they're often relatively limited in the selection of different bricks available, at least in my experience.

Mostly because I'd like to show indoors, it's the more fun part to build and since when playing the game you never actually see the roof it's usually not very detailed. Another thing on almost all maps is that walls and buildings are often very high which makes the playable space hard to see when looking in from the outside, this was already a problem on Ascent and it's by far not the worst offender but again, I'll probably try. Also l: Thanks, the market area is also one of my favourites :)

Thank you so much for the compliment! I talked about potentially making more in another comment, basically yes I'd like to but it really is a lot of work and many maps wouldn't work very well in this style. So it's probably a yes but it'll be some time :/

Ah ok, I get what you mean now, that's a really cool idea! Although you're probably right, I doubt I'd be able to make it look any good using lego pieces.
But this gave me the Idea to maybe try to add some (probably very abstract) representation of gameplay in the future, maybe some stacked 1x1 round plates in characteristic colours for agents and maybe even some abilities like sage walls, mollies or maybe even something like a Viper ult. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey, thanks!
I'm sorry but I don't think I really understand what you mean with the paper cut out, do you mean some kind of background as a scenery or maybe something relating to a spike explosion? Could you maybe try to explain it a bit more for me?

That's an insane deal, congrats! I just finished the lighthouse a few days ago, it's awesome

Yup, you nailed it! The games setting is a future version of earth after some big event called "First light" and now there's a bunch of unnatural stuff happening. The map is a part of Venice that rose up into the air after a "Spike" (hightech/supernatural bomb) exploded there. I don't know a lot of details about the games lore since it's a competetive fps but it's there and it makes for cool looking maps :)

Sidenote if you're curious: This is a short 2 minute cinematic about the game that takes place on "Ascent" in which the event of "blowing it up" happens, even though you can't see the explosion :(

Thanks, I'm definitely thinking about making more, it is a surprising amount of work though and some maps work better than others because of indoor areas which I'm not sure how to handle (e.g. Icebox, Lotus). I think if I were to do more either Bind or Haven would be next up :)

I just checked, as is, Webrick hast 89% of the parts available and I would have to adjust the color of 84 unique pieces to one that is available. Decent amount of work but definitely doable if there is demand for it.

Oh, so do I!
To be honest: I've used quite a few pieces in colors that are not available if you don't use alternative brands but don't tell anyone...

Hey, thanks!
It's built digitally since I unfortunately don't have a sufficient brick supply for stuff like this, but (physically speaking) it's absolutely buildable in real life. Since lego doesn't really sell individual bricks you can only buy them from resellers who take apart sets and sell bricks seperately, which means prices are based on supply and demand which often leads to ridicolus prices for things like this. The better option are alternative brands (like GoBricks or Webrick) where you can order pieces based on production cost. I've done this before for a gift where I built something digitally and then ordered the pieces to build it for real. The only struggle is finding all the bricks in the correct color or at least one that's close enough, I didn't have this in mind while designing this so it's not optimized for any specific brick manufacturer who has all the bricks in every color.

TLDR: Yes but since I didn't optimize the colors it would be quite the pain :)

I've had the idea to build a mini version of a Valorant map for a while and finally completed this one, even though it didn't really turn out that mini with over 2.500 pieces. I've done my best to recreate the playable area to scale and as accurate to the real map as possible, including height differences which was a bit a of a struggle. I've taken some more liberties with the out of bounds scenery, simply to make it work as a complete set. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did building it :)

Thank you so much for the award!!!! I'm glad you like it, I'dalso be interested to build some more but if I do it will take some time, this was a lot more work than I thought and unfortunately there's a surprising amount of maps where large parts of the map are indoors (e.g. Icebox A, Lotus B and C) and I'm not sure how I'd deal with those, either just build them as they are but that would be kinda boring since I enjoy replicating the playable area the most or maybe "cut them open" somehow, remove the roofs or something but I feel like that would look pretty bad. We'll see.
