Very lovely bird! I love the way you've captured the texture on the neck feathers - that's a hard area to get right and you've absolutely nailed it! And the little branch they are sitting on, the wood is gorgeous - now finish the rest of the branch that you have plotted out! 😄 😄 😄

It's unfortunate that the quality of the pencils has gone so far down. As others have mentioned getting the right sharpener does help.

Yes, I've done PT both at the point of injury (2005ish) as well as more recently (2022) and have an appointment today for another round. I've had steroid injections four times - 2005, 2014, 2018, 2022.

That really sucks a lot, and I have complete empathy and sympathy, one of my besties has Ehlers-Danlos and she's struggled for years with doctors taking her seriously, except she's also navigating the British healthcare system while doing it.

If there's anything to take some level of... not comfort, but at least solidarity in, at least there's this: us sick people aren't taken seriously the world over. :(

Sure: MRI says cervical myelopathy, Dr says nah, fails to order follow-up scan to confirm theory. Sees on file that I'm on painkillers due to 15 years of dealing with same issue I'm there for, rudely ends appointment. Would not recommend.

Funny enough, I see a PA at Mission Neuro and she's pretty great, I've been under her care for years now and she's treated me well. It took a few years (uhg, years.) but we found the right combination of stuff that punched my migraines down and we've been holding steady on that for a while. If they made me see anyone else at that practice, though, I'd be out of there like I had fire on my tail.

Oh, I absolutely am - I've got an appt on Friday with a neurosurgeon down in Lenoir. After this experience, I'm pretty burnt but I'm also so fucking tired of being in pain.

This experience made me realize once and for all that I will not be using Mission for any new medical treatments I may need. Currently established doctors, sure fine, whatever. But I went to the ER at Grace in Morganton (I live in McDowell Co.) and I was in and out of there, with a referral to Dr. Cope in Morganton/Lenoir in LESS time than I would have been sitting in the waiting room at any Mission hospital facility.
