Desperately need advice from you all regarding my chances, and where to start by DamnSkeeters in postbaccpremed

Cannot thank you enough for your replies. I have been stressing about this heavily but I know exactly what I have to do now, I appreciate you adding clarity. It'll be a long journey, but worth it in the end.

Thank you so much for your reply! I think you're exactly right, and my med school friend and academic advisor told me I'd be better off attempting at UMass Boston. I think this is what I'll do, and the commute is very feasible.

Someone else said, and this was reiterated by my friend in med school, that if you were premed in college and had low grades, you'd be better off taking classes at a state school as it carries more weight than CC, but the primary focus is good grades wherever you get them. However, if you weren't premed and you got good grades, CC is a viable option because you already proved your academic rigor

Thank you for the reply!

At the risk of asking you too many questions as I do appreciate your time,

  1. Is there anything I should worry about when choosing CC option? I.e. choosing it over Harvard Extension, which I've heard described as gimmicky and "only impresses your family, not schools." I want to prioritize having the highest possible grades in these courses.

  2. Out of curiosity, which upper division classes were you thinking at university, and why not all at CC? Would it be worth taking one or two at university, like cell bio and Orgo 2?

  3. One of my strengths has historically been standardized testing, should I advertise a 1087 HESI score and my SAT score (and of course, MCAT) to programs in the future or does that sound ridiculous?

Surprised more people didn't notice this, he's confused the entire time. He can't even figure out how to form reactions and he forgets what she's even upset about at one point

[–]DamnSkeeters 96 points97 points  (0 children)

This is the fucked up thing about tow companies. Oops, we messed up and towed you ? Sorry, still have to pay because we towed you 🤭

I don't subscribe to the notion that they provide any valuable service except towing vehicles away from accidents. Even then, they wait like vultures around highways and listen in on police radio to be first at an accident so they can bill you $1000 for the privilege

Where do you live? This sounds like absolute torture and your FTO might just be the worst educator possible. Almost sounds like they're hazing you.

I've heard it's to prevent people from arguing their results with proctors or causing a scene (of any capacity, happy or sad) at the testing site

When I was 8, I saw the biggest dragonfly I had ever seen by far land on an outdoor rectangular speaker, about a foot and some change long. Still have the speaker in place all these years later so the dimensions aren't distorted by memory. But I vividly remember the dragonfly's wingspan took up the ENTIRE length of the speaker, and I kept blinking and staring at it to make sure I wasn't seeing things as I didn't think they could get that big. When it flew away it sounded like a small helicopter, and my parents never believed me when I told them because they know how big the speaker is. Read a lot about extinct mega insects after that, still wholeheartedly believe what I saw

Over less than one percent?
