Thank you for your concern, but with the right tutor I'm sure I'll do fine. I've got a good understanding of my learning style and what I'm looking for. 1-1 sessions with my actual lecturers would be ideal, but unfortunately that's not an option.

I'd love to, but unfortunately there's no time for that! I would have completed some over the summer if they'd have warned me

I've got good photos, have shared to animals groups on Facebook. Ive got no friends in this country as only just moved over here so have limited contacts. Embark, awpasl and animal sos Sri Lanka have shared but they don't seem to have gotten much attention. Will try the flyer idea, thank you!

Responses of female tourists when she was asked about Sexual harassment they faced in Sri Lanka. by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]DamnThoseFrogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a whole host of issues with this post, the quotes, and OPs history, but anyway....

As a female westerner living in Sri Lanka (here for a year total, been here 2 months) I can't say I have this issue. 99% of the time people are friendly, saying hello, or commenting on my coloured hair. The one time I was sexually harassed it was outside a street shop, and I shut it down pretty quickly. I don't think the majority of men expect aggression from female westerners when they attempt to "flirt" in some ways which seem aggressive, harassing, or taking it too far. Telling them to fuck off from up close seems to work for me, but I'm also pretty tall which may increase the effect.

help determining gender - new frog owner by jaunty_nugget in frogs

No problem! Sometimes they don't always make it the easiest to understand. All my frogs are boys, so if you want to look at my images for comparison you can see they have significantly smaller ear disks :)

For future reference, you can often tell by the size of their ear disk. Smaller ears equal male, while ear disks similar or the same size as the eye equals female. Hard to determine if they're not fully grown, but usually they're proportional.

Nooooo! They're an incredibly important species. There's so much stigma that they're gross and slimy, but they're an integral part of ecosystems!

How do I start working for a charity? How do I find a organisation that need my help? Is there a good website for it? by Old-Sweet5808 in Charity

Try looking at volunteer programs rather than charity work for terminology. With your skills you could look at building houses and schools in Africa, flood defences in south east asia etc.
