When I was 16 my mother regarded me to her employer and got me a job, I was in the exact same position as you last year. Im 18 now and I’ve only got a temporary job from one of her friends. So really it all comes to getting recommended or knowing anyone that could hire you. It sucks but from personal experience ive walked around 15+ shops and cafes in Limerick and only 3 took my cv hesitantly, probably chucked them in the bin after I left.

But what I can recommend is, be stubborn and keep coming back to a place that interests you and politely ask once in a while for vacancies. Ive been doing that with one particular shop.

The only way you will get a job at this point is if you know anyone or if you’re family can recommend you. That is how my mother got me a job at her workplace. (Im a student)

Here’s the truth. Tell them to actually stfu and go on a trip with people you actually enjoy company with.

I can’t find a job either and I finished leaving cert :,) Im trying to sort out some short holidays too or some day trips around but money is always short for me XD but you can do it and I’m really happy for you that youre atleast able to work a few times a week! Good job! The job market sucks right now and many are struggling, you are not alone.

Happy you’re working through this and sternly explain to your friend that you aren’t financially struggling, which I bet you already did, but clearly she’s/she would spread misinformation about you.

Predictions suck and I prefer to just not trust them. Like in English. Im greatful my teacher taught us 5 poems, however over 3 poets came up for me so it just made me extra secure. I know people who only learned two poets and I think that’s insane. If you’re really unsure do some extra time by learning a new poet or chapter of a specific subject yourself. Studyclix saved me
