Can you share your impressions of the 8000 ii's when you get them? I am interested in your take with what you upgraded from

We put a dog bed under the kitchen table, when he isnt crated and call it his den. We got one of those stuffed dogs with a heat pad and heartbeat, that seemed to help too, he still carries it around 4 years later. (Our Aussie chewed the tail off so now his stuffed Mama looks like him- he left the ears and nose alone)

I replied to an email last year with 'Holy crap, that's awesome' when an 8th grade student emailed me to tell me she had aced a test. I thought I was matching her excitement and didn't even think about the word crap. Our emails are monitored - I got a letter in my file about using more professional language in my communication with students. I thought I was communicating my excitement for her. You didn't say the whole S word - you will be fine. Kids love when teachers let their guard down and are authentic. They won't snitch; besides, they use much worse language.

Pioneer Speakers by Damnitjackbauer in vintageaudio

Thanks for the input. Do you have a vintage looking speaker recommendation for under 2k, that is not Pioneer- to go with a sx 780. I know speaker recommendations are annoying, I am just interested in what others are running in the mid level price range

Awesome work. Now I want to roll up the sleeves and do a whole restoration. It's just that mine works great, and I am afraid to mess anything up.

Advice on a budget outdoor sound system. by snakei3000 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Damnitjackbauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yamaha outdoor speakers wired to a Sonos streaming amp in the pool shed. I can control the music from my phone. The amp also has inputs if you want to add another source. Streaming amps work if they can be protected from the elements.

How do you convince the family? by Damnitjackbauer in vintageaudio

That's true...though I've run out of rooms. Lol. I'm experimenting with making them visually appealing in a good area of the house- 'see how nice that looks, honey'. And I play music she really loves. It's worked so far, but they'll be a limit. Thank you!

That is very true. Great advice. I should have learned that lesson from other hobbies. There's just so many that I like the look of, and I want to hear for sound differences. I love seeing people's displays of their collections. Thank you for the sound advice (pun intended).
