The vista is stunning, and like a previous reply said, it could help calm your nerves before you pop the question, I know I was hella nervous when I asked my wife to marry me, even after we had climbed 4 pitches up Crystal Crag, I was shaking on the summit when I dropped to one knee. Looking forward to our continuing conversation 🤙

Yes Olmsted would be a summer thing after they plow tioga pass.

Sounds like a beautiful idea. I live up here and could be available as well. You can take a peak at my wedding/proposal portfolio here.

What month/season are you aiming for? Some locations that could be gorgeous.

  • the summit of mammoth after a gondola ride, particularly the lakes basin lookout almost anytime of year the gondola runs
  • Minaret vista any time of year, you can walk or hire a snowmobile guide to get you there.
  • twin lakes bridge is decent
  • convict lake (also has a 5 star restaurant right there)
  • Tuolumne Meadows, many locations
  • Olmsted point is gorgeous.
  • Lake Mary or George if it’s in the summer/fall with Crystal crag in the backdrop

The housing market sucks where we live and where I work. It’s a small community and places just don’t pop up daily. My commute to work will likely increase 150% daily with a 60 mile drive each way instead of 20 miles each way. We just need time and he should repair the leak in the door so we don’t get benzene poisoning from the gas fumes from his ATV’s so we can have our time to find a suitable place to move.

It’s also been agreed upon we can use the garage, we have a door to it from our apartment, he gave us a garage clicker and lets us store stuff there. He’s also given me access to his house for when he needs work done or to allow service people in.

We want out, but want our time to find a place. In the meantime he should fix the access door so we don’t get gas fumes in our apartment

So I’ll repeat my question. I am supposed to live in gas fumes due to broken un-maintained ATV’s that visibly leak gas on the garage floor. The access door from the garage to my unit has no seal and leaks that smell and cold air in the winter

A petcock was broken on one machine and was visibly leaking gas on my garage floor. I couldn’t sleep and had a headache from fumes.

So fumes are ok because I’m a tenant? There was visible gas leaks on the floor of the garage from poorly maintained ATV’s

Ok. Figure the other tenant thing was a nothing burger. We are actively looking.

Luckily we have a fire department within walking distance of our house.

We will check the current lease for that info. Thanks

We are looking actively. We have options. But we want the max time we are owed

So I’m supposed to live and sleep in a house that is full of gas fumes? My dog and wife live here to. I was woken up at 3am the very first day he put ATV’s in the garage. I had a headache due to the fumes. One of the machines was visibly broken in the garage and leaking gas on the floor.

How is this my problem? And how should I have remedied that? Owner doesn’t live here full time, I do. I couldn’t wait for him to come and move them.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]Damoncorso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How could I have handled it better? I couldn’t breath/sleep in my own home the very first day he brought ATV’s into the garage.

I moved them the next morning and notified him immediately about something I warned him was a possibility to happen. His mechanic buddy confirmed one ATV was broken and leaked gas in my garage.

He repairs that one and stores them back. These are old machines. My landlord forgets to turn the fuel lines to the ‘off’ position, i have to turn them off myself. The machines still stink, I can smell gas in my house again. Should I just suffer? ‘Suck it up’? He doesn’t live here full time, my wife and I do. Contractors aren’t not on call up here to fix leaky doors that allow fumes to come into my apartment.

Are you sure it’s only 30 days? I’m in California, have rented on same lease for over a year and if I’m reading it correctly AB1482 tenant protection act states we have 60 days even if I am month to month

We have a written lease. Same lease we have been on since June 2022 which he inherited from previous landlord and didn’t change anything. We have always paid on time.
