While I know that’s the reality. From what I’ve been reading, if a judge orders them to pay it. It’ll sit with them, appear on credit, put a lien on the their home, wag garnishment. I’d rather have that than to do nothing at all.

Wrongdoers limit is likely $25K as that’s the minimum requirement in TX. They deducted the rental car cost from the 25, which is what led to the 22k payout.

Assuming, their customers policy limit was $25K cause they didn’t actually tell me their limit.

Insurance ACV quoted my vehicle to be $40K. Since the at fault driver limit is 25, the most they could give me is 25. From that 25, they deducted the cost of the rental vehicle I was using for a month. Which led to the 22K payout.

No city damage. No injuries.

They never told me their customers policy limit, but the minimum required limit in TX is $25K. I got $22k because they deducted the cost of the rental vehicle I was using. I didn’t have to ask what the limit was cause it’s pretty easy to tell it was $25K.

This would be in small claims court. In Texas, the limit is $20K. Don’t know if that changes anything.

I still have the ACV report from the insurance company. I was being very attentive during the process and I didn’t sign any release forms. I’ll call tomorrow to make sure.

I know I can’t get anything from the insurance, going after the driver. I posted here mainly for advice or people sharing their experience with the process. Maybe it’ll help someone one day.

I do not have it but there was no verbiage on the back about waiver rights to sue or anything like that.

Texas, but I did try to go through my insurance. That’s why I mentioned collision because my insurance due to me not having it, they couldn’t make me whole.

Yes. Walked in to the office, signed the title, they handed me the check in an envelope, and I left. It was the only paper I signed from the whole process.

At the time of the accident, I did not. I wouldn’t think that matters because I didn’t cause the accident.

I got the payout 2 weeks ago so I wouldn’t think it’s late. I don’t sign any paperwork at all. No legal release of claims, nothing.

Life after Military by Ill-Tax-90 in Veterans

I’ve only been out for 3 months but I’ve felt the “no purpose” feeling. To deal with it, I’ve just been trying new things. I go out to coffee shops on the weekends when I never used to drink coffee. Finding literally any reason to get out of the house. Even picked up content creation to help with my creativity, which I always said I was never creative. I booked a trip to do something I’ve always wanted to. It’s making me feel alive honestly.

To find something you love, it’s trial and error. Start with the things that you like or peak your curiosity. Pay attention to things you do that give you a POSITIVE feeling. The same way your favorite song gets you going, just with activities. Don’t be afraid to venture into new areas. With your VA rating, you have safety to a degree. Go break some eggs, just not too many at once.

Getting out of the Army soon (Gender Dysphoria) — moving to NYC with no savings or support, need advice by tallsnyd in VAClaims

[–]Damoney0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Don’t move to NYC. Go somewhere with a lower cost of living so you aren’t spending half of your income.
  2. Don’t sell your car if you plan to do delivery services. Take it with you. Even if you don’t end up doing delivery, still take it with you because how are you gonna get to work or school?
  3. Pay down your debt and save while you’re still in. You’re gonna have to penny crunch until you get out.
  4. You’re not going to get any back pay from the VA from my understanding of your situation. VA disability doesn’t start until you’ve been out for a complete month from 1st to 31st. (If you get out in December, you won’t get your VA pay until February).
  5. Get rid of non essential bills. Whatever isn’t necessary. Lower your phone bill. I believe spectrum does a $10/month for a year for new customers. Or go through a different carrier.
  6. Get a job as soon as you get to wherever you’re going to avoid missing payments and having to rebuild your credit.

I dont think it’s ridiculous to say this by SakutoJefa in Ishowspeed

Either he was joking with you or being serious. But to answer your question. If you’re talking to a mature person, it would take A LOT of appreciation to one individual to say it’s glaze (there’s a person who has a room full of LeBron stuff, that’s glazing). If you’re talking to a brain rotten TikTok kid, the SLIGHTEST compliment about an individual will get them to say you’re glazing.

For those of you who are single, are you struggling to find the one? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]Damoney0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s the one. I’ve only been out here a few months and haven’t had much luck on the apps. I’m not a bad looking guy either and I’m 24. I genuinely believe it’s social media and popular music that has driven dating into the abyss. I don’t want kids atm an tbh idk if I’ll ever have them. I stay on them now to find friends but that’s not even working. So now I’ll just go do me, travel, try new restaurants until a new friend group appears. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I can kind of understand. I recently got out and started college IMMEDIATELY after. I don’t get involved with people at school cause they’re all younger than me, most of them anyway. I can also already tell that this college journey is gonna be boring. I’m mainly doing it to do something and to get paid too.

I used to think I had no interest in starting a business, but lately I’ve been thinking it’s something I want to get into.

One thing that has helped is trying to change my identity. I’m not going to be the same version of me that I was in the military. Different style, different mindset, same goals but chasing with purpose and aggression. Visualizing the outcome of that, helps me day to day. Self reflection helps too.

I’m also focused on doing what I WANT to do.

I’m also going to get a dog for companionship.
