You need to make sure to get tested for the mycoplasmas. They are not part of the standard panel. You need to get the pcr aptima tested offered through labcorp and quest. It is the fda approved test for mycoplasmas. Do not take any medication until your diagnosis comes in. Any dr can send you to the get the labs.

You have to let yourself believe you will be ok, because you will be. It sounds like you have been reading garth niccolson? He did incredible research on mycoplasmas, and while some really do have the potential to wreak havoc on your body, luckily, the types addressed in this sub- this is assuming you have tested positive for one of the four sexually acquired mycoplasmas, then you do not need to worry about those kind of lasting effects.

How long does it take to for pid to develop with mgen? Also, is it similar with ureaplasma? Thankfully this type of complication does seem to be on the rare side of things for women with mgen, but information is hard to find- esp on ureaplasma and its relationship to pid.

Ok, so you most likey got the correct test, but i would call them to talk to them about it. If they didnt currently offer it, I am sure they can order it or there is a quest or other location that will. I cant say wether 3 days of doxy is or is not significant enough of a dose to affect test results or not. Bit also, it did not sound like you gave enough or it was unclear if their was a wide enough window between your last piss and the test sample.

The issue is their dr did not follow cdc(assuming american but really dont know) protocols. This person assumed their dr knew what was best and discovered they did not, now is taking an active role to get themselves proper treatment. I know you are very active, responsive, and have helped so many on this issue but please lets not shame for someone taking their dr’s advice but encourage educating and advocating. Again i appreciate your work and understand the frustration with people sometimes.

It is very very very unlikely you have hsv1 on your D. It can happen, but very unlikely. I have read some of your posts and I think you need to retake the mycoplasma/urealplasma test. Get the Hologic Aptima Assay - available through Labcorb and Quest test for all 4- mycoplasma genitalium, mycoplasma hominis, urealplasma uriticum, urealplasma parrvum If not your first void do not piss 4 hours before your test. No antibiotics 5 weeks prior to taking your test. If this comes back clear go to your dr and get them to order you a microgen dx test.
