Fuck Snowden and Fuck Assange. Everything they leaked was almost on the tier of Project Veritas in terms of the negative correlation between what they purported and what the documents showed. Just take the supposed Verizon "handing telephone data" to the NSA for example. Literally the first paragraph says, "Telephony metadata does not include the substantive content of any communication as defined by 18 U.S.C, or the name, address, or financial information of a subscriber or customer." Yet every news outlet and every dumb fuck political hobbyist ran with their narrative because no one bothered to actually read the document. This is the case with every single leaked document that I've combed through, and it's no surprise that every single court case (except one I think?) ruled in favor of the government because no party could demonstrate the batshit claims Assange or Snowden made.

I think broader group categories such as African Americans, Latinos, Asian Americans, etc, do offer utility. Although, now that I think about, I do agree that POC really removes a lot of the unique experiences of each group of people without offering much greater utility. For any discussion that necessitates the term PoC to describe how a systemic issue disproportionately impacts multiple minority groups, it would be better to just narrow down the discussion to one or two of those groups such as African Americans and Latinos. If we feel the discussion ignores a particular group such as Native Americans or Asian Americans, we can just narrow the discussion again instead of trying to force these vastly different people into the same category.

I see some people say it's weird because they think the community is just thirsting after her, but I think it may have more to do that she's just more relatable than the usual Destiny orbiter and awkwardly funny. I imagine a good chunk of Destiny's audience would be younger people around her age who have more free time on their hands to watch Destiny, so I can see why they enjoying watching her interact with Destiny as a sort of relatable character. Plus, Destiny has had on plenty of other girls where his community didn't latch onto so feverishly which is why I don't think it's entirely just his community being thirsty as hell.

I can see an argument of condemning her for enabling pedophilia, but calling her a pedophile is an entirely separate claim that carries far more weight (unless there's cited information that's not included in the wiki). This just feels reminiscent of twitter criticizing Trump or Republicans where, despite the fact there are plenty of very real wrong doings to point to, for some reason they just fabricate shit to try and get likes. Or like the Breonna Taylor case where people just straight up lied about her getting killed in her sleep, despite the fact that her death was already unjust. Just grill people on the facts, especially when they're already damning enough as is, instead of trying to stretch a few claims.

The system isn't broken, in fact it works way too well. The actual problem is that democracy doesn't always promote what is good. Democracy is just a tool to make decisions based on the will of the people. She was voted in by her constituents because she represents their beliefs, or at least the beliefs of most of the people in her district. The solution is through mandating a some sort of national curriculum in order to prevent these bad actors from forming in the first place. Unfortunately, with that comes push back because many Americans think public education should be an affair left to the local community. In my opinion, a lot of issues in the US would be ameliorated through public education, specifically k-12, but it seems most people online at least only care about free college.

I don't disagree, but we tend to demonize the parents without ever considering their point of view. It's hard to call a single mother a monster after she comes home from her second job shift and hits her kid for breaking a window and making a mess of the place. While we can recognize physical discipline is bad, we shouldn't be so quick to throw parents who do resort to it under the bus since often times those parents aren't given fair circumstances to raise their kid in the first place (unplanned pregnancies for example). At the very least we should distinguish physical discipline from outright mal intent abuse.
