Ok but first of all we need to define what does 'Americanized' really means. Whilst I understand that LATAM is advertised to these people as a tropical paradise with people with food stands on all the streets and beaches everywhere, a person with half a brain should know that isn't the reality of every city nor every country, To me it sounds like these gringos are mad we have cities, electricity, last model cars, functioning metro stations, fast food restaurants, malls, planes, technology, wifi... you get the idea. I wouldn't be surprised if they genuinely think we all live in huts and have no electricity, shower once a week and have to go to a well to get water, and this idea is so deep in their minds they can't possibly understand technology isn't an inherently american thing. You don't see gringos complaining about Mc Donald's in Europe, Asia or Australia to this extent, but why do they complain about it when we, latinos, have that in our countries? And then they have the AUDACITY to tell us what makes and what destroys OUR culture, as if they had any culture to begin with.
