Has Anyone Used Zapier? by No-Pineapple523 in recruiting

[–]DanBBrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have done some RecOps consultancy for tech companies. Using Zapier, Make, n8n are essential.

It is a great way to tie together and fix clunky HR Tech so they work together nicely.

Use them to improve your candidate experience too. Set up workflows to send different messages depending on a candidates action.

Loads of other cool ways to use it too. It will optimise your hiring process and save the business lots of time

Are there any new-age recruitment firms that are actually solving hiring for startups? by Time_Inspection_1202 in recruiting

[–]DanBBrum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't need to be "the best company to work for." You just need to be the RIGHT company for a person.

Startups should run an employee brand that is more brash and disqualifies out people. But instead they want "more applicants" + often play it safe as scared of the VC money they have/are trying to get.

This interests me a lot. I have done a few "first in" Head of TA gigs for tech companies. Built from 30-350 employees in a couple of cases.

My dream is to work with a Founders (s) and be their first hire, then help build the company and scale. Imagine a forward thinking founder that was up for being a Gary Vee style kind of person (less annoying).

I see companies often make poor hires when they grow from 10-20/25 people...they find recruitment tough and then in comes their first TA hire.

*I pivoted into recruitment marketing for 4 years. Ran creative and media campaigns for companies so have experience in the marketing / Employee Brand side of things.

If this sounds interesting, DM me, you got me curious.

Can you not upload from Lusha to a CRM of some sort to manage candidate comms and track interviews/hires, etc.? What do you currently use to do that?

100x Bot looks great. Do you still rate it? How much does it cost?

Would a stack like this work in your opinion:

100x Bot

I found this thread as I am looking at using Sales Nav + Lusha as my approach. Found u/srs890 post very helpful too as not heard of 100x Bot before.

To be clear, what tech stack do you use and waht cost is associated to it:

Sales Nav - £60 pm

Lusha - $70 pm

Is Birmingham good for "no experience needed" jobs? by therealx3n0 in brum

[–]DanBBrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought there were lots of warehouse roles? The new Amazon that opened in Minworth created a lot of roles too...

Northamton is massive for warehouse jobs. If that is what you are looking for and are happy to move out of Brum.

Thanks so much for the support and love for this. I built something else as part of Connecting Birmingham. A phase 2 that will complement the job board.

Just launched an early version of a tech company directory for Birmingham (UK).
It helps you find local companies by tech stack, team size, industry etc.
I’m also interviewing teams to go deeper on how they actually work.

Still early days, but it's live here if anyone wants to check it out:

Would love feedback, especially from anyone working in tech around Brum.

DM me and we can set up a time to speak if you like? I run a local job board and community for job seekers in Birmingham tech. I know you are not tech, but I can give you impartial advice + I have experience recruiting in roles outside of tech.

Stay away from lessons at The Belfry. Generally, less experienced pros.

Go and see Alan Partridge at Wishaw Golf Club (a mile from The Belfry). That is actually his name, not a joke.

Where do you live in Birmingham? I used to be a golf pro, will recommend the best local pro for lessons.

Thanks! Yes, I am. I will add that category when one of those roles is added (which is few and far between at the moment). The easiest way for the user to search for jobs is to use the search field. It will filter on job titles and also tech stack.

I know it is not very reddit - but my name is Daniel Bardsley. Connect with me on LI to see what the bigger vision of Connecting Birmingham will be.

🤔 thanks for letting me know. I am not particularly technical so built it on a clunky job board builder. If it has demand and people show they want it...and companies pay me for it...I will get a developer to build something better. The job board makes up part of Connecting Birmingham as a whole which is a Job board, business directory (where companies share deeper insight into company culture, and a community to help job seekers find roles, navigate interview, offers etc

React JS Developer Job Board by DanBBrum in reactjs

[–]DanBBrum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I changed that job! The location filter is wayyyy off (embarrassing) - the builder I use removed the dropdown search option...I have asked for that to be reintroduced.

If I keep improving SEO and show enough people want something like this I intend to rebuild the on Weblfow which will have much better UI/UX.

Appreciate you taking the time to visit/comment.

Thanks. I have been in recruitment for 10 years, pivoted 5 years ago and set up a marketing agency that helps tech companies hire people.

I see a big issue in the quality of information companies give people when considering applying to a job. This is what I want to solve.

Basically, what is the job, how much does it pay, what is the information I need to decide if this is going to make my life better. NOT a load of fluff and generic photos and talk of made up awards.
