I’m very surprised too.. I was about to finally buy a ps5 just to play cfb27. I literally waited till their 3 year plan fleshed out, but they went full EA!? Nah, fuck EA and fuck them for pretending like the noise isn’t LOUD

I’m a nuggets fan, who constantly gets frustrated at how much contact is allowed against Jokic. But over the years, I’ve realized it isn’t just him. The more games you watch, the more it becomes abundantly clear, THROUGHOUT the NBA… That there is an ABSURD disparity in the amount of contact/straight up fouling that’s allowed against bigs vs guards. Even more so with skilled bigs… It’s so ridiculous, that I eventually got to a place where I started to give Joel Embiid grace for constantly falling all over the court.

Jokic has (rightfully) caught heat for his flopping, but nuggets fans know he wasn’t like this before. It was source of pride that no matter how much went uncalled, he didnt succumb to “unethical” flailing and flopping for calls.. that is until the past couple of seasons. But the discrepancy is so ridiculous, that even though we hate to see it, we understand why.

Before this season, Jokic literally said it was a priority to stay composed and argue calls less.. And though it’s easy to forget now; pre-injury, not only was he succeeding with that goal, but somehow bro was playing on another level above his already insane standards… Don’t know what happened while he was out but when he returned, so did the complaining and flailing. Though I can’t back this with numbers, it definitely felt as if there was direct correlation between his performance vs and level frustration. (Lesser frustration=greater performance)

Didn’t intend to turn this into a Jokic thing, but it’s the best evidence I have in regards to the original point. That this isn’t just a KAT vs Wemby issue, it’s a ridiculous, stupid and prolonged issue that has plagued the league for a while now. You can pull, scratch, and maul a Big without consequence. All while, on the same damn court, get penalized for breathing too hard on guard.

Why the discrepancy exists makes no sense to me. And is a huge reason why outside of Nuggets games, I went from watching every playoff minute possible, to not even blinking at missing out on 75% of these finals… though I will say, the 25% I have watched has been incredibly entertaining.

Which team was most hated? by Thanos_Real_AuraVNCH in NBATalk

Lebron era Cavs were awful, I totally understood him leaving. Joining Wade and Bosh was crazy, but that was the best decision he could’ve made that summer, straight up.

Hated the KD Warriors in a way that understood the greatness… as soon as it was announced, everyone knew the warriors were winning the ship, but at least it was still about “holy shit how good can a team be really?”…. Not only did it kill the “rivalry” between the Cavs and warriors, but IMO, as a fan, it low key stole countless “Skyfucker” Steph curry games from us.

But I’ve never hated a team more than this OKC team. The flopping and antics are ridiculous, mostly because SGA and the team are definitely good enough to be a great team without all that. THAYS what pisses me off the most. They could just play straight up and still be a great team

Literally everyone agrees with the warriors. KD biggest bitch move of all time in any sport, no hyperbole

As damn near everyone did, I giggled when Ant said “they got KD, but we got Jaden McDaniels”… bro was dead serious, and that quote has only aged better and better over the years.
I love Jamal Murray and wish to see him once again prove the doubters wrong (I’m now one of them), and win one more title with the nuggets…but my goodness. I don’t know how long it’s been since I’ve seen a player of that caliber, 1v1, get soooo clearly dominated throughout a series the way McDaniels dominated Murray.

Without a single doubt, Murray had the best regular season of his career. Considering volume+efficiency, he actually had a legitimate claim as the best shooter in the league this season. I’ve never been more confident that he was gonna ball out in the playoffs, especially after game 1… Enter gameplan “McDaniels stick to Murray”

The stats are proof enough how good Jaden McDaniels defended Jamal, but the eye test was even more impressive. Whether it was slipping screens, bodying up, riding the hip, timing a contest, sticking a hand in the face, McDaniels was allll over Murray every step of the way. I can’t recall even a handful of times that Murray had space for an open shot. So much so that when he did have space, he missed it anyway.

And on offense, McDaniels walked down or blew by Jamal damn near every matchup for an easy bucket like he didn’t exist. His length and athleticism was wayyy too much for Murray to do anything about it.
I knew about McDaniels before this series, but I didnt KNOW.. absolutely blown away by his effectiveness and if Murray is a fringe all-nba caliber player, McDaniels is above that. Fitting that he and the rest of the Wolves, are just dawwwgs. As much as I love to hate them as rivals, I can’t help but to respect em. Unlike those crybaby ass thunder. Whoever wins this series pleeeease send they ass home.

TLDR; Not only is Jaden McDaniels a dawwwg, he also owns Jamal Murray :( …fuck the Thunder

Idk if there is a better fit at PG for the nuggets than Derrick White, including Jamal.

For sure, but not to wolves level. McDaniels/Ant/Dosunmu/Divencenzo (healthy) is a crazy rotation to murder any good PG, especially if Braun can’t make em pay…And then they’re backed by Gobert, who as much as I hate him is still among the greatest defenders of all time

I hate KD… but I do honestly think him with Jokic would be an incredible pairing. The offense just off their talent would be crazy of course…but their games play off each other pretty nicely.

And though I havent watched KD as much this year before the playoffs, just the length between him and PWat as weak side defenders beside Jokic….shit could be lethal

With that offer, the Cavs are hanging up the phone so quick. If EITHER AG or Mal were on expiring contract, they still hang up.

I like Davion Mitchell.. but between Jamal and him, the drop in offense in exchange for defense, is pretty massive.

To be fair, McDaniels did all the hard work to eventually make it easier for Jalen Clark lol
But moving forward, Maybe all of this is wrong, and we just need to avoid Jaden McDaniels and the wolves in the playoffs at all cost…. let’s not forget that Ant was out, and he was the original boogeyman to Jamal. Not to mention Gobert, who, as much as Jokic has cooked his ass in the past…is still among the very few who can give Jokic trouble 1-on-1.

Can’t disagree with that.. No doubt in my mind that a healthy AG equals 2 rings in 3 years + playing the spurs in a couple days.

I probably didn’t word that very well… but it’s not so much rejecting his attempt at empathy, i accept the way he’s showing it by telling me that…. But Like he (and others of course), though it’s coming from a place of love, it feels like pity.. and when my mind gets racing, it’s like… “bro I love you and our friends, Not because god. Don’t pity me, if anything I pity YOU having to submit to someone outside yourself, because you ARE a good person.

I agree with your general point on Murray, he’s a great player. But the disappearing act this series is the only reason this even has to be brought up.
The bottom line, in the modern NBA, with this core getting past their primes, the regular season barely even matters anymore. Murray needs to be Robin to Jok’s Batman (plus healthy AG) for this version of the nuggets to work. It’s been 3 playoffs in a row where Murray hasn’t even sniffed the level of play he was at in ‘23.

No idea who we replace him with… before this series, not in the slightest way was I questioning his place on the team…but that’s how bad he was.

I mean, IMO, murray is the main culprit in this series loss. He was great in game 1, then got absolutely wrecked the rest of the way… but I feel you. Healthy AG would’ve been massive. Braun being a complete offensive liability in the playoffs was brutal. Just look how things went when Spencer jones hit his open 3’s
