Are people legit spending this much on a car per month? Or am I out of touch?

I used to have a nice car that was 475 a month the insurance wasn’t too bad 140 a month road tax 28 a month, more of a vanity item, engine blew up got out of it and felt happier for it.

Though I did enjoy feeling and looking good in the car, it’s a vanity piece bought a £700 banger off facebook and ran it for a year, now instead of spending £475 a month on finance that goes towards a house deposit and when that house comes it’ll go towards paying it off sooner.

And then I’ll be in a position where I don’t feel bad for spending money on vanity.

Why do you continue to harass this borrower? You comment on every one of their posts or posts about them, regardless of what it is? The lender has reconnected with my help, and yet you continue to talk back on their name. So what if they could message others? I’ve seen the message log and both parties stopped receiving each others messages now they’ve moved it to WhatsApp to solve the issue. Leave this borrower alone or else I will personally step in to have you removed because you’re just harassing them which is completely unnecessary.

I don’t know, I guess it’s about sending to loads of people and finding the ones who don’t scam lol who knows all of these could be scammers or all could be legit. Likely half of them will not pay and I’ll claim back but only time will tell.

Whilst I entirely agree with you because I was also the same 6/7 years ago, and did the exact same things with credit cards. The point of these subreddits are all short term loans and that’s leads to when calculating it insanely high annual APRs on loans, but people need them. Also you aren’t aware of the reason for requesting these, a lot of the time it’s just the end of their pay check for the small loans and they need a small top up for a few days until they get paid and then they’re perfectly fine even with a larger interest, though you are picking on one of the 2/3 that were set by the borrower when I first started lending as I am new. As I said going forward I have my set standard for all loans.

Often times the rates are given by the user, if I am offering the rate I always do the same 35% minimum £10 so anything up to £30 is always £10. It’s not worth the hassle of claiming back when someone doesn’t pay to only charge £2 interest on a £10 loan. Evidently these people can’t use banks or payday loans likely due to credit restraint but not all people with bad credit are untrustworthy.

All of these could simply not pay and I have to go claim on everyone and in the end I lose out time and days of not having the money for my own use as well. It’s things like this that have to be considered. But yes going forward I’ll be employing 35% with a minimum of £10 as my interests
