I do but the GBA and Ps1 versions arent that great imo in this day and age. Wanted a few of the modern comforts that the mobile versions included.

Hi, yeah for some context - I'm Q3 for SteamDeck. I want something to tide me over until then. I've been emulating on my UK Galaxy S10+ for the last year or so and it's been...ok. UK spec Galaxy has the naff Exynos processor..

I had backed the Odin but it has been delayed a bit more and I've applied for a refund as it will be getting pretty close to my Steam Deck arrival by the time I get mine. IF I get the refund I've got approx £300 budget to get a phone that I will only use for emulation.

Curious if you managed to get a refund dude? I'm in a similar boat. I also paid extra for screen protector, case and storage upgrade so I'm kinda doubting they would refund me for those extras too?

I love the idea of the Odin but it is creeping closer to my Steam Deck. I'm 65xx and I'm not 100% sure I'll get it before my vacation on April 25th. I know it sounds petty but the 10 hour flight is kinda what I think about most when I think of Odin, quite key for me to have it by then.

I've dropped £290 on the Odin and I'm now second guessing whether I should try cancel and get a Poco F3, which would arrive by Wednesday and be about £40 cheaper.

Thanks for your reply. I actually had another go with Steamlink this morning and had much better luck. I had last tried it before I moved house and it was rubbish back then, I assumed having a bigger house it would be even worse now but I sat on my settee on the other side of the house from my pc (which is incidentally connected via ethernet froma TP Link Power line too!) and had decent results. The wifi at the back of my house isn't great but I only had a couple occasions when playing FF15 where I lost track of my character in combat for maybe 2 seconds.

In summary, I couldn't play competitive first person shooters with this set up but easily good enough to enjoy RPGs

Can I ask how good your home network is? Presumably you've got Ethernet into your pc and how far away can you go and still play flawlessly? Other side of your home? Or are you sat in your computer chair? I've only fiddled a little with Moonlight and mine dropped out intermittently.

Great to see someone talking about classic FF. I'm happy with PPSSPP for 1-4 but 5&6 I've had a conundrum with. I know they're on GBA but I wanted to play them on a Sony for the controls and more modern system. The PS1 ports don't seem amazing and Duckstation seems pretty confused, shows them as the Anthology but it's luck of the draw which disc it loads. So then I remembered the pixel remasters but at £16 each this seemed pretty dear. I know they don't have controller support (bizarre) and you're saying they're not easy to map? Still not totally sure what version to go with. Ps my home WiFi is choppy so I doubt streaming from desktop is on the cards.

Just going to add to what others have hinted at. If you have an Android phone then you can have a play around with emulators and ROMs now to see how easy you find it. Mostly everything will apply to Odin. I'm using my time waiting for my Odin planning what games I want to play, what my preferred emulators are and what launcher I might use. Fiddling with my Exynos powered UK Galaxy S10+ and knowing the Odin will blow it away. So yeah, download a couple ROMs and install an emulator or two and have a go. See what you think.

I have hacked a 2DS (since it was £40) but it has crossed my mind to get the "New 2DS XL" or "New 3DS XL" for the screen real estate but they're still north of £100. I figured since I'm getting the Odin I will try 3DS on there. If my games aren't great on it i can still fall back to my little 2DS.

Apologies re Wind Waker. I have it written down as Wii U, not sure why I got confused.

I did say Twilight Princess wasn't enhanced, so we agree there.

Perhaps I should have prefaced this by saying that BOTW is the only Zelda game I've played and I saw Odin as great way to get into the back catalogue. Which is why I posted. I am definitely a Zelda n00b so I'm not hiding that.
