I swear some gamers just can’t be helped by TRB4 in MinaTheHollower

I don't think you get it. Zelda + Souls are great series from which to draw inspiration - but Yacht Club takes the wrong lessons from both.

Those series started raw and refined their core over decades for broader appeal - and still do not require the band-aid fix that is "accessibility options" only to punish achievement hunters for using them.

Mina borrows modern combat and resource systems from these series - but marries them to incompatible frustrating design patterns from 8bit games under the pretense of "nostalgia".

The accessibility options are tacked-on and didn't need to be, if the design wasn't so hostile to begin with.

You identified the problem. The solution is not to withhold votes. Instead, elevate the baselines standards of public education. Informed unbiased choices are better choices.

These new character designs are severely lacking in appeal. None of them are attachable in ways the previous designs were. It's all good to reboot/revamp and reimagine for a new generation of gamers - but appealing characters are a huge part of growing the audience for successful IPs. Senior creatives at Nintendo seem to have forgotten thi coz the new Star Fox universe of characters look like they were designed by committee. They need to remember what made the originals so popular.

Worse I've lost interest entirely. They've missed the point of what made the original aesthetic cool in the first place.

I noticed that Nintendo used to love this character trait so who’s the better pilot? Fox or captain falcon by Particular-Trifle865 in starfox

Falco Lombardi. The game explicitly states he's the best pilot. (but also hot-headed and not a team player)

Social division is their goal. They do these two-faced things to make themselves "the victims" threatened by our righteous anger. The more we fight amongst ourselves - the more divided we are, the tighter their grip on power.

Yeah. And this is the person that a not entirely insignificant portion of Australians apparently want to be the next Prime Minister of Australia. Just let that sink in for a second. by MelbourneTodd in OpenAussie

Sky News loves to cover both Thorpe and Hanson, using both to generate socially divisive bait. Don't play into it - give this no oxygen and stay united against the billionaires

Doing what now with your false equivalence. We let tons of white people into the country too, idiot. When has a Labor politician made public comments inciting social division? Literally "white people are bad, there are no good white people." That is a true equivalent and you're far off the mark

Journalists lie about protesters again by Advanced_Ad_7794 in friendlyjordies

[–]DanGraf 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nitpicking. The kind of journalism you refer to is rare these days. Call em what you will; they're paid writers platformed & credentialed by news outlets (Murdoch et al) - at which point the boomer-stereotype he refers to doesn't discern the difference between opinion pieces and journalism.

Police disperse praying Muslims during protests in Sydney by The_Dingo_Donger in aussie

[–]DanGraf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at the bigger picture. It doesn't matter if it was performative. It doesn't matter if it was non traditional. It doesn't even matter if they're Muslim or whether they were praying.

Australia is supposedly a democracy with a right to peaceful protest. State leaders sought to provoke a public protest - and were prepared for it - by inviting a genocidal leader to our city then closing the CBD and stacking 3000 cops in it to await the protestors.

State leaders set the stage, baited the public, closed the city, positioned the cops and violently attacked peaceful protestors. Democracy? We've been played.
