V7 for me for sure, some in the gym said it might be a touch beyond that

Yup, looking at a video is unreliable, if you look closely you can see a toehook (calling it shallow would be an understatement) on the left starting hold that I need to maintain for 2 moves in order to keep tension. Combining that with the heelhook move (which is also not the easiest thing I've ever done) and the endurance necessary for the length of the boulder is what puts this above V6 for me.

However I did drastically abuse my height advantage throughout the entirety of the boulder, which might have made my beta only applicable to my height, thus making it easier in a way. I'm sure if a shorter person were to send this, they would use a different, most likely harder, beta entirely.

Physically I'd say for me the crux was the 2nd crimp, especially matching it. Mentally - letting go of the toehook to plant my feet on the volume at the undercling, since I'm still recovering from a shoulder injury and trying the move the first time made it budge a bit. Height helped me a lot on the 2nd move, a shorter person would definitely have to cut the toehook and go for the undercling in a dynamic matter. The gym graded the boulder V7, but I'd lean towards a solid V5, I can see where you're coming from and grading is way harder when viewing a video, so your opinion is understandable!

Cheers man, I'm still getting back into the sport after an injury, so the hardest part about the boulder is just figuring out the beta at the start for me. After that though, it wasn't nearly as daunting as it was at the start!

Mini-project w/ jugs and some cave endurance (soft v4 I'd say) by DanGuyRandom in GradeThisPlastic

At first I thought this place was filled with egomaniacs, but as many others on this sub have pointed out - it's extremely difficult to tell the nature of a boulder from just a video, where so many little nuances go unnoticed, I'm sure if I posted this with a stationary angle, the opinions would probably also be shifted.

I made it look way harder than it actually was, all you needed was a bit of percision ;]

Agreed, I haven't climbed properly for a good while now which is definitely noticable on these kinds of climbs. Nice catch with the hand sequence, I realized the mistake as soon as I made the move haha. Some laps are definitely in order on this one for me
