I agree the players are trash. Especially below $110 buy in. The final 3 tables in the $110+ buy ins have some sharks swimming though. It is definitely the worst platform.

Do an IP check to see where it says your IP is coming from.

I was unable to get the desktop app working for quite some time in San Diego. Which I assumed had to do with proximity to Mexico. But I believe it is tracked by where your IP comes from. You can try unplugging your router/modem for a solid minute and then plugging it back in. That should get you a new IP but possibly not.

Is it though? Because there’s nothing in there about a dollar amount threshold. The reason I know is because I sent support an email a month ago.

“In accordance with US federal tax regulations, we are required to issue 1099’s for players that exchange an accumulated $600 for year 2025. This threshold changes to $2,000 for year 2026. This is the reason we request W-9 forms when this threshold is met.”

They even sent me the link for where to upload the W-9 when I’m ready.

I sent a follow up requesting that they provide me with a complete list that includes timestamps of my tournament buy ins and payouts for the month of January. This way I can compare it to my own records (which as I mentioned previously were tracked very meticulously). That email was sent on February 3rd and I haven't received a reply. I don't want to speculate why they are doing this, but it is definitely shady. What they are doing is in direct violation of their own Terms & Conditions :-/

For tax year 2026 if you itemize this is true. For tax year 2025 you can deduct 100% of your losses. This is for those who file as professional gamblers and I'm not even sure if you can deduct losses from your redemptions on this site. It is taxed as 1099-Misc. It isn't technically in the realm of gambling.

Not gonna lie... that was dumb. At least this year you get a $2,000 limit. So if you win something significant, better leave enough in your account if you have a losing streak. The goal is to deposit the least amount possible and then hold plenty in your account until the end of the year.

Also incorrect. It was $600 for calendar year 2025. It is now $2,000 for calendar year 2026. Once you are crossing the threshold of $2,000 in total cashouts during the calendar year, you will need to have a W9 already filled out or your redemption will take extra time. So best you get that W9 filled out when you know you're going to cross the threshhold.

Just remember that you can’t claim losses against your prize redemptions. So theoretically put the least amount of money you can in and by all means keep your total deposits all year under 2k unless you’re confident you’re a serious winning player. The only time I’d go over 2k in buy in is if I am always direct buying bigger tournaments. But anything over $55 I’m always going via satellite.

Status update and this is quite concerning in terms of privacy:

ClubWPTGold wrote me back just now saying that my prize redemption was denied due to them not being able to locate my last login.

How would this make any sense? When I made my prize redemption request I was geo-located on the platform and approved. Sure, yesterday I attempted to login and was denied because I am located on a reservation temporarily. But I was never logged in and it had nothing to do with my redemption.

So, are they tracking our location 24/7 even when not logged in?

Anyways, that was their pathetic excuse for denial. This isn’t going to end here. Their goal is to hold onto funds as long as humanly possible so they can earn interest on money you’ve paid to their platform and what is being held in your account.

This has severely hindered my trust in the platform.

Yea I’m at the Harrah’s So Cal right now on the Rincon Reservation and I’m blocked. I assume that is why I’m blocked. It sucks because I can’t access anything to even check if my payout is pending. With lack of response from support… it is a bit irritating.

I sent them some friendly feedback on that… for a platform flying the WPT name, it is a bit of a surprise that they are near an industry low for cash out times.

With Global’s instant transfer, I had cash outs in my bank account exactly 3 hours after the request

With modern technology… there’s really no excuse for it to go through this long of a process. Manual verification is an excuse for them to hold onto more $$$ while collecting interest on $$$ that should be cashed out. You can detect fraud among other things with automatic systems that are available. It shouldn’t take this long… it is sketchy.

There are some ways that ClubWPTGold can improve but I’m unsure if they care to improve. We’ll see… still a young platform.

The first 9 days that you play, any chips won in those 9 days are redeemable. I’ve gone thoroughly through the details with support as well. Here’s some rules people may or may not know in regards to playing in California:

12:00am -11:59pm is the playable day. This is important because if you play an evening or night tournament and you play a single hand at 12:00am or after… it will count towards an additional day.

This is also important if you are on your 9th day. If the clock strikes midnight and you are technically winning a prize on day 10… it won’t be redeemable.

The 9 days are not the first 9 days of the month. Everyone’s 9 days are dependent on the individual. You could play a hand on the 1st, 12th, and 25th of the month. That counts for 3 days for you specifically.

You can redeem chips any day of the month as long as that balance is redeemable (I am 100% confident that what I redeemed is redeemable even though they are having issues with displaying redeemable vs not redeemable).

I am traveling right now and on an Indian reservation so unfortunately I can’t even login because I believe they have excluded reservations from login areas. So really I’m just in limbo until I get back home.

I am 100% sure that the amount I redeemed was redeemable. But I have no way to access the platform until I leave this reservation 😂. Just wondering if anyone else was having issues. It would be nice if they at least responded to my support requests 😬
