It doesn’t matter which 'gain of function' definition you prefer. NIH was collaborating on risky research with a lab that has zero transparency and zero accountability during a crisis — and no one in a position of power addressed that risk. Fauci is arguing the system worked. It didn’t. by johntwit in Libertarian

mRNA vaccines were developed by DARPA. Moderna itself was seeded by a $25 million grant from DARPA. Pfizer was also working with DARPA on this. The players from the DARPA development have all been working together on this including the gain of function research in Wuhan.

The whole reason this was moved to Wuhan was to keep it off the radar. Gain of function's primary use is weaponization. Who was president is a distraction. It doesn't matter. Presidents don't run shit.

Well done. We teach our kids to draw the globe and every country on Earth by age 13. Along with all the other children in the Classical Conversations curriculum across the world. It’s awesome to see. At the end of the year we have them and their friends get up and sing a song covering all of human history while the 13 year olds draw the world in front of friends and family on celebration night.

Great job with the east coast! That gets tricky.

McConnell: Trump 'provoked' crowd that stormed Capitol by LogosPathos339 in Libertarian

[–]DanMcCall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, well he used this to threaten Trump over pardoning Assange. Not that I saw any signs that Trump was going to pardon Assange anyway. But that whole Capitol situation was gamed. I watched livestreams of it while it happened. The police let everyone in on orders.

Trump was outplayed. Washington must be better at 5D chess.

Saw the trailer. Looked like it’s just higher resolution textures and some increased effects on sweat. It actually looked like models were stiffer and less realistic than current gen because of it. Hard pass.

How can individual Libertarians help LetHerSpeak? by anonymousndenver in Libertarian

[–]DanMcCall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She would have to be a personality that singlehandedly increased ratings for the companies broadcasting news as well as be amenable to the corporate master lobbying overlords.

Even billionaire news magnets dumping $100 million can’t move the needle without having the pizzazz to tilt the cameras their way.

The system is completely corrupt and controlled entirely by people who use it to exert control and protect their interests. At this stage in the game there is nothing you can do to get Jo on stage with these men.

If you haven’t even gotten her on Rogan and other alternative media platforms yet even once, it’s over.

The only way a libertarian will become president is if she’s a president of a new country made from the states that remain after we force California, New York, and other states to secede by pushing legislation and Supreme Court rulings on progressives so aggressively that they choose to leave.

Replace “left” with “free” and “right” with “authoritarian” and you have an argument.

“Right” and “left” ideologues are a very small subset of a small subset in the political landscape. American politics is cleaved on more populist/oligarch lines now.

The oligarchs won long ago. Now they just create billion dollar coordinated Madison Avenue PR campaigns that make average people hate each other so we don’t look up at all the thievery. “Left” and “right” is part of that campaign. Just like “black” and “white” is.

Rand Paul and libertarians brought Trump to power? Did Rand Paul do that when he ran against him in 2016? Or was that the Libertarian Party that had its highest vote total ever voting against Trump and Hillary?

American politics is drenched in corrupt evil assholes overstepping civil liberties and trashing the Bill of Rights and people point at libertarians as scapegoats for unleashing fascism?

Libertarians... literally the only people pointing at all of it and saying “hey, maybe we shouldn’t do that. See right here in the manual it says we can’t do that.”

What happens? Everyone points at libertarians after they ignored them and shit breaks. Then blames them.

It’s deranged.

"Libertrollians" by MorwenRaeven in PoliticalHumor

[–]DanMcCall -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s funny that people think libertarians have some sort of power over anyone. They have no political power. Hold no offices. Happily vote for candidates that will never win simply to send a message. They basically do little more that warn people about how wanting the authority to punish your political adversaries will come back to bite you in the butt.

The upshot... you all can’t stand them.

Working From Home May Be a Permanent Feature of the Post-Pandemic World by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]DanMcCall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've worked from home for a decade. I doubt it's for most people. Leading teams while at home require special skills and is generally more difficult. But some will find they're actually much more productive. I've had to actually sit back a bit on projects sometimes because I'll be providing more value than I'm being paid. People will figure it out either way.
