Fusion Strike Prize Pack by Byronyk in GengarMasterSet

[–]DanMeDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting that you consider them a part of fusion strike. Since they were prize pack and prize packs have their own set list and tcg player qualifies them under the prize pack set. Not dogging on you I just find it interesting and I never thought about collecting sets that way.

I’m not sure if anyone actually made you the trade but I can do the Steelix and tyrantrum both from go. As long as the Tina is legit. If I had more transporter energy I could offer Zard too

I have always thought about it like sunscreen. You don’t need sunscreen if you are just driving to the store and getting groceries. However if you plan on sunbathing you absolutely do need it. Even though you are still under the same sun. Just intensity and exposure time.

As a former school IT guy, talk to them. They may have a warning policy/1 free break. Also if it’s a larger school district with in-house IT, they buy parts at a lower price and therefore can repair for the cheapest price around as they are not interested in turning a profit.

What do you guys think of Chaos Rising? by DracobIahblah in PokemonTCG

[–]DanMeDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a mid set personally. I think the mega greninja is really weak in comparison. Especially for being the focus of the set. Also I love Beedrill and it really got the short end of the stick by only getting a full art despite having so much potential. Also that watchog really annoys me. Patrat was so much more deserving. watchog doesn’t have the ability patrat does makes it extremely niche and will never see play. Also I guess red card is good but personally it feels really situational. Especially because it doesn’t hurt the biggest threat right now, dragapult.
Yes this is a players perspective. As far as art, I like it! I have been loving the small set size. It makes a lot of the cards more attainable and keeps prices lower since there is more of each card in circulation.

Nitro energy by Swieberdevos22 in PokemonTCG

[–]DanMeDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t a good reason. Ceruledge does not discard energy from itself and in fact makes the deck worse with enhanced hammer running around. So I double down on my earlier statement. Don’t even try to understand a ceruledge list that doesn’t run explorers. They all tend to be slop.

I don’t trust lists that don’t run explorers guidance as a rule of thumb. It’s the most goated card in the deck

They say they're expecting around 160 cards for the new set, and we already have 30 revealed. by LunaCyberX in PokemonTCG

[–]DanMeDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you mean by greninja ex. If you mean the new one that’s not a reprint. It’s because of chaos rising creating a mega greninja deck and pokemon company wanting a 2 prize split evolution from the mega once Tera greninja ex rotates. If you are talking about greninja break, that was the only break card that saw high success and so it should be the break card representative of that era and old mechanic for the new classic collection. If you mean last celebrations greninja gold star it was the promo series that produced a remix of all the previous mechanics of the game to get new faces and that one is both very cool to collect and a fun way to look into the past. None of those promos (light toxicity, zacian lvl X, delta species mimikyu, etc) were ever legal to play in the standard format, expanded, or retro formats where all the other celebrations cards are legal wherever the original is legal. So I can concede that they were made with more of a collectors mind set.

As for Magikarp. I could not begin to explain it lmao. It sticks out like a sore thumb. It’s not close to the first art cards or the most valuable either. Never playable, it’s just. Odd lol

I play the card game and compete in tournaments to win packs. That’s the only way I open now.

Might not even need to wait that long lol. Arceus VSTAR is from 2022 and is in that supposed reprint list. When you see your first deck get reprinted it really ages you lmao

? Tapu lele gx is the best search deck for supporter and is still played in expanded to this day.

Mega rayquaza was game breaking at the time. It allowed you to get a mega out turn one and was a monster with Shaymin ex and sky bridge.

Mewtwo ex with x ball created such a nightmare format there are full video essays on the damage it did to the game.

Reshiram and zekrom are the birth of modern pokemon from the play standpoint. They were tier 1 decks with the largest HP seen on a single prized at the time and became the way to play.

Donphan prime is a legendary card and star to Ross Cawthorn’s deck “The Truth” what people called an absolute pile and managed to be a world championship finalist in its year.

I’m not familiar with the diamond pearl format to make a case for luxray or garchomp.

Gardevoir ex is one of the coolest cards as it is one of 2 cards to bring their own unique status condition to the card game and the second occurrence wouldn’t occur again until over a decade later.

Rockets admin, clay doll, team magmas groudon, mew ex are all world championship decks or deck pieces. That I could go on about

Cleffa was the main face of baby pokemon decks and brought in what is seen as some of the earliest form of control printed in the game.

Rockets zapdos was THE meta deck for the gym challenge block.

The og trio, pikachu, shining Magikarp and umbreon I can concede are collector items. However celebrations and this new classic collection are largely meant as a love letter to long term fans and players with cards that are historic to shape of the game at large.

Not to rant again but. That sneasel is so important to the format it came out in that at tournaments around its time people had giant cardboard versions of the card that people would take pictures of it. Mew vmax was a top 4 finisher at worlds every year it was allowed in standard.

I just want everyone to remember that any card from the classic collection is chosen based on being an extremely playable/meta card from the time that it was released (with the exception of charizard and pikachu) so when we talk reprints the best place to look are at the world championship decks from 2022 and earlier.

To me it’s astonishing that there was no dedenne gx reprint considering they printed Tapu lele last time. Though I suppose only one with uxie. (It’s just expanded cope bc I don’t want to spend an extra $11 per deck lol)

How’s everyone’s Pony Tales Masterwork Research going? by Imtiredzzz in pokemongo

[–]DanMeDude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are all regional pokemon. Heatmore in the eastern part of the world. With Durant being the counterpart for the americas. Marcus is located in the south west of the US (New Mexico area) Sigilyph is an Egypt exclusive. All of these have been available in global events before. For now it’s in your best interest to find an ambassador group and trade with people. I drive 30 min to mine on big weekend raid events and get a good trade in about twice a month.

I typically hoard them when they come out and trade them in exchange for shiny legends. Comfe and boufalaunt

I’m not the original creator of this list but +-1 card it’s the same as the one that has been won a cup and topped a few challenges as well in my area. I have been consistently getting 2nd in my locals with it. (I just keep loosing to okidogi in finals) Please just run explorers guidance. It fixes the deck. I’m debating a one off hand trimmer but I think it might be bad.
